The reason the author chosen to choose a jam sandwich is because the wolf does not eat meat and all he wanted was a friend to love him the way he wanted to love him the way he likes it.
We loved the book,but at first it was a little scary we thought that the rabbit was going to get eaten until the alternative ending saying "the author would like to point out that no rabbit were  eaten during the making of this book."
