In Costa Rica, they also celebrate holidays but they add a bit of a spin. On Christmas they will bake cookies and make Christmas tamales. We also bake cookies but my family likes to make dehydrated beef jerky and salsa. We still give out the traditional gifts and host parties for family but not to the extent of Costa Ricans.
