From volunteering to officially working at companies, making a CV was an unavoidable skill, essential as oxygen to survive in the world we live in.

This article shares the main idea of challanges that fresh students have to undergo before and after starting the college life, explaining the fears of an undergraduate freshman and giving a few tips and tricks throughout the paper. The data collected in the article was collected from the book "Cracking the Code", the book itself however gathered the information from the Chief admission officers' for supporting URM Students in STEM, the data was collected from circa 5000 students from secondary school who are leaving school and pursuing further study in university, some of the students were also aged below 15 years old, which helps in understanding how the students feel about choosing their degree.

From this newspaper article I figured the difficulties of starting your independent adult life in University, which starts 1.with selecting your career, a huge stress load for a teenager/young adult, selecting a degree is very stressful as it shapes the future of the person, there is so many options to choose from and the "secret" of a successful university life is choosing what is right for you, it can be very challenging for a developing adult to make such an important choice.

2.The style of communication in University changes from the one in school, in school students are used to always see and communicate with their parents, their parents is a huge part of their choices and life, the friends that are always around and the teachers who will always make sure the knowledge food will be well served to you, so when you attend University, you have to be ready that you are the one solemnly responsible for yourself, letting your parents know you're doing well, making new friends and stepping out of your comfort zone, follow the deadlines and make sure to study as no one but yourself is responsible for your communication.

3.Once you step out of the parents house into the adulthood, you are to watch your finances, your money is now your own responsibility.

I do deeply relate to this article, even though I'm older than other freshers, which gave me some more time to mature and have a taste of adult life, I understand the feeling of choosing a path, that you are afraid of choosing the wrong way and realising too late, losing money and time, energy.

I understand the fear of being thrown into new circumstances, outside of your comfort zone, having to make new friends, having to sustain yourself, having a full responsibility over yourself, time management, financial responsibility, study, it is all overwhelming.

But whilst it is overwhelming, it is a necessity, for my independence, for my life experiences, for my career, for my evolution.
