Having spent over two decades in the automotive and agricultural sectors, I’ve developed not only deep technical expertise, but also the communication, leadership, and mentorship skills essential to fostering learning. I have mentored high school co-op students, guided apprentices, and more recently, supported students in a school setting—all of which confirmed for me that teaching is about more than delivering content; it's about building relationships, nurturing curiosity, and instilling confidence.

I believe in creating a learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to take ownership of their education. Especially in the skilled trades, students benefit from learning that is active, collaborative, and directly connected to career pathways. As a teacher, I strive to be a role model who promotes critical thinking, resilience, and a strong work ethic—skills that are essential both in school and beyond.

Education should prepare students not just for tests, but for life. By integrating real-world applications, encouraging questions, and supporting diverse learning styles, I aim to make education both relevant and inspiring. My ultimate goal is to help students discover their strengths, develop their potential, and realize that success can be achieved through hard work and a willingness to learn.

Currently enrolled in the TEMS program at Queen’s University, I am committed to lifelong learning and to continuously growing as an educator. I look forward to bringing my industry experience and dedication to the classroom, where I can make a lasting, positive impact on students' lives.
