The teacher will start class by introducing the idea that a well written paragraph is like a puzzle. With multiple pieces that connect in order to make the whole.</p><p><strong>Learning Objective</strong>: After a brief introduction, students will be able to have a basic understanding of the importance of paragraph structure, and be engaged by the thought of writing a paragraph being similar to putting a puzzle together.</p>]]></description>

Each group will be given strips of paper labeled :topic sentence, introduce evidence, evidence in the form of a quote or summary, analysis of evidence, link to main idea. Once in groups and with these materials, students will discuss in their groups what they think the correct placement of these parts of a paragraph are.</p><p><strong>Learning Objective</strong>: After in class discussion, students will be able to work together to show their understanding of paragraph structure.</p>]]></description>
