The reason that "Kim" from seedfolks planted the seeds was because she planted them in memory of her father. She wanted to show her father that she has bravery. The text says " I nearly stepped on two rats gnawing and froze. Then i told myself that i must show bravery". She wants to show that she can grow plants like her father. The text says "he would see my patience and my hard work." It also says "I would show him that I was his daughter." The seeds to her means that it is in remberance of her father.

The narrator plants such seeds to create a memory for her father because she never had any memories of him. The seed means a lot to her because before her father passed he was a farmer, In paragraph 7 "all his like in Vietnam my father has been a farmer. also in paragraph 2 it said it was her fathers death anniversary. Which infers that she planted the seed for her father.

The narrator plant the seeds because of her dad. The narrator says then, " I told myself that I show myself that I must show bravery." The seeds mean a lot to her. In paragraph 6, she says '' I took out my spoon and began to dig.

Question: Why does the narrator plants the seeds?/what do the seeds mean to her?

The narrator plants the seeds, because the seeds mean a lot to her because she wanted to prove that she can be a farmer like her dad. For an example in paragraph 7, the author states, "I dug six holes. all his life in Vietnam my father had been a famer. here our apartment house had no yard. by in that vacant lot he would see me. he would watch my beans break ground and spread, and would notice with pleasure their pods growing plump. He would see my patience and my hard work...I would show him I was his daughter."
