After reading the drama a second time, I was able to grasp the idea that the emotions of fear got into the neighbors heads, leading them to become paranoid of fear. This “monster” got fear in their heads which caused them to blame and even kill those they knew very well.

I think that after reading this drama for a second time, I was able to better understand how the emotions of the characters played a big role in the outcome of the story. During my second read, I understood how paranoia led the neighbors to shoot someone that they would not have if they were thinking straight. Finally, during my close read, I was able to understand the meaning of the words better than I was able to understand them the first time as I saw those words more.

I think that I have understood the drama better than the first time I’ve read it, I understood mostly understood how the characters felt during and throughout the play while reading the drama the second time.

After reading the drama a second time, I got a better understanding of the story and really understood how paranoid everyone was. Also on the second read I started understanding the vocabulary and knowing what they mean, because I reviewed the words a second time.

During my first read, I was mainly focusing on understanding the drama and identifying important pieces that contributed to the plot. After reading the drama for a second time, I was more focused on finding the deeper meaning behind each characters actions. I was able to identify the deeper meanings behind stage directions and dialogues. I was able to identify the characters feelings based on their dialogues or actions.

After reading the drama for a second time, I paid more attention to the character’s stage directions and actions that contribute to the plot of the story. I also noticed how the neighbor’s suspicions change throughout the story due to the surrounding paranoia.

After my second reading, I better understand the emotions and feelings of the characters and probably their thought process. I also noticed Charlie was acting more suspicious, and even though at first I wasn’t really able to understand what any of the characters were saying, after reading the story again, I was able to grasp all of the things the neighbors were arguing about.

During the second read, I better understood the plot and emotional connections between the characters. At first everyone was accusing Goodman then each other. As the story went on, I better able to make inferences on who the imposter might be. However, in the future, instead of them making random accusations they could stay neutral and settle on proper accusations as time goes on.

After reading the text a second time, l better understood what the characters were going through and how they were feeling during the argument between them. For example, the first time l read the text, l thought Goodman was insane and a possible suspect. After reading it a second time, l realized he was sane when screaming at his neighbors because they accused him of something small.

I got to understand the emotions of all the characters better and understood how everyone’s fear of being attacked led to the chaos of accusations which seemed weird. I also tried to pay more attentions to what their suspicions were based on and tried to understand why they came to that conclusion.

Once I read the frame again, I better understood why Charlie shot the strange figure that turned out to be Pete Van Horn, at first, I thought it was just out of the tensity of the moment, but now I realize it was because of that and because of the dramatic way Pete walks towards them.

When I read The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street I noticed how Charlie was always finding something bad about other people the whole time. When Charlie suddenly became the main suspect he expected everyone to just forgive him and move on.

When I was reading this drama the second time, I better understood the theme that is about paranoia and anxiety. I also saw how the mood and how the characters behaved (stage directions) really add a lot of depth into the message of this story.

When I read the drama the second time, I saw that the characters in the story each had a hidden underlying motive that changed as the passage progressed. For example, Goodman tried to act like he was the only person who was thinking properly and being rational. However, at the end of the passage, Goodman was the accuser leading the charges against Charlie. The rest of the crowd was always on the side of the person leading the charges, not the defendant.

On my second time reading the monsters are on maple street I looked at the stage directions more. While analyzing I realized that the crowd was doing a type of group influence where they just wanted to agree on something and blame someone.

After the second reading, I better understand the emotions of the characters and the deeper meaning behind the play. It also help me analyze the characters deeply and give me a deeper understanding of them.

Reading the drama again helped me notice that all of the characters were scared of the other characters, but not just because they thought they were a monster. Goodman was scared of the mob of people that confronted him, thinking he was the monster. Charlie was afraid that the inhabitants of Maple Street would blame him when he accidentally killed Pete.

After my second read, I can now better understand the main plot of the whole story, and was able to pay more attention to the smaller details, like parts of the stage directions, and how each of the characters felt. For example, now I can understand why Charlie was trying to blame others for being the “monster”, as he was trying to keep any accusations against him away.

During my second reading, I paid more attention to the motives and underlying reason behind each character’s emotion. There was a difference in Charlie’s paranoia and Goodman’s fright, and I could understand that better after looking closely at the stage directions too.

I think that after reading the story for a second time I could better understand how the stage directions show emotion in the story and how that leads to the outcome of the story. I also got a grasp on the theme of the story because everyone has paranoia which leads the people like Charlie to shoot a person because he was so frightened.

After my second reading, I better understood how everything that came “out of the blue” was just a coincidence, such as the car engines turning on and the lights of Charlie’s house. Because of this, it gave the neighbors an unsettling feeling where they pointed out Steve and Goodman over illogical evidence. It seemed to be that Charlie had caused all this commotion just for the those to agree with him.

I think that after reading the play for a 2nd time that I got a better understanding of the stage directions and how that played a part in emotions during the drama. Also I got a grasp on the theme of the play which was paranoia can lead people to do crazy things like how Charlie shot a random person.

Something I understood more about the drama in “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” after my second read is how much tension there was when Pete Van Horn was walking toward them. In my first read, I understood the tension, but not that much, since the figure was even shaped like a human. In my second read, however, I understood the tension even more because the figure was slowly walking toward them.

After reading the drama again, it helped me notice the emotions and feelings of certain characters through many ways. Some big things that helped me find what the characters were thinking were stage directions and how the were talking.

I payed closer attention to each stage direction, and I payed closer attention to each shift in the characters mood. This helped me better understand why they were all so passionate to prove themselves innocent, and it showed why it was such a scary topic.

After reading the story for a second time through, the things that I ended up paying closer attention to where the stage directions and character emotions and linked traits. In addition to this, I ended up finding out that during these tense situations, there were meditators trying to diffuse allegation brought up by various neighbors. Example being that, when it came to stage directions, I notice that when Charlie ended up shooting Pete, you could see how on the stage directions, he would back away and go form neighbor to neighbor to try and clear up the misunderstanding of the incident. It shows how during this very event, he was in a state of panic and non-understand ent of what he had just done, and how he would then justify his actions as being out of fright and apprehension. Proceeding from the beginning of the story, you would also get to see how almost every neighbor had some abnormality going on, whiter it was insomnia or their headlight mysteriously shining on and off. It would go to show how they all had certain patterns in their every day actions such as when one of the neighbors would always go look at his radio, and it would go to show that in this state of tension, they would pick out those abnormalities and use to to justify why they could be the potentially that monstrous entity. The one that put the neighborhood in to state of panic and disorder.

After reading “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” for the second time, I understand the feelings of the characters much better. At first, I was confused and didn’t really understand the emotions that the characters were trying to convey to the reader. But after reading again, I read the stage directions carefully, analyzed the text, and finally understood the story properly. This helped me to enjoy the story and the plot that comes afterward.

After rereading the play, I figured out that that all of the residents were stricken with so much fear and panic, that for some of them, it was not even possible to think rationally. Fear got the better of some of the characters, such as Charlie, who was so paranoid, that he shot somebody that they all knew.

The stage directions told me what they were doing, which gave me context to what was being said. The dialogue between them showed how each person was feeling, whether they were more rational, tense, paranoid, or even scared. The tone showed me more about their personality and who was willing to point fingers versus who wanted to think out every possible outcome of everything they do.

After my second reading of “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”, I could clearly understand the characters perspective and how their emotions correlate to their actions. I could imagine how stressed and paranoid they were in the 2nd read more than the 1st due to stage directions and dialogue between characters.

During my second reading I payed more attention to how each character acts when there either acussed or nervous. We especially see this when Charlie didn’t know it was just a guy jogging in the street making it show Charlie is the suspect.

But after the second read, I better understood what the dialogue was about, how everyone felt and I could just feel the intensity in certain scenes better when I read it the 2nd time versus when I rea dit the first.

Now that I have read the story for the second time I understand what is happening. The neighbors are so scared they are unable to think rationally. They are pointing fingers at anyone and everyone who is doing anything the slightest bit out of the ordinary.

In the drama, I understood the plot better, as well as the theme. Everyone has turned their backs on each other just because they think there is an imposter among them. They have all lived peacefully together for 5 years or maybe even more, yet just because of one small event, no one seems to trust anyone. The theme of this drama is, “Suspicion against each other will only lead to disastrous mayhap.

I understood the paranoia and fear growing better in the second read than the first read. In the first read, I was more focused on understanding the basic story. However, during the second read, I already knew the basic story, so I could focus more on the paranoia of the neighbors, which I saw steadily increase up to the point of Charlie shooting Pete Van Horn.

After reading the story for the second time I was able to understand better how they were feeling and the paranoia they were going through. I understood that once they got the idea of a monster in their heads it led to fear, paranoia and not rational thinking. All of this led to disaster an d caused them to do things they would never do. I also noticed that the fear made them change their point of view on people.

I first thought it was about a neighborhood investigating how Goodmans car started upon its own, but after my 2nd time reading, i found out that it was about who was the alien, and the neighborhood was confronting everyone about the suspicions on them.

Reading the drama again helped me notice the more underlying layers of the townspeople’s character. Rereading the drama showed me more about Charlies personality and how he’s quick to blame people. He usually doesn’t even wait for hard evidence as we can see towards the end when he kills Pete Van Horn.

After my second reading, I noticed that Charlie was frightened by the fact that he killed someone but before that, he would blame everyone except himself. That led to me thinking that maybe he was blaming everyone so he would be accused. After my second reading, I also understood how everyone was in paranoia about the monster. That drove them all crazy and most of the neighbors started accusing without enough evidence.

Now that I have read The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street for a second time, what I understand better about the drama than I did on the first read is,I learned that Steve didn’t want his wife to show other people what radio he was working on because he was confident and didn’t like being accused.The first time I thought he was guilty and didn’t want to be caught.

After my second reading, I better understand how fearful the characters were. At first, it wasn’t that obvious, but once I got the context of the story, I could see their fear in little places I had missed the first time.

After my second reading, I noticed that Charlie was blaming everyone else except himself. That led me to thinking that he didn’t want to be center of attention for being the monster. After my second reading, I also understood how the paranoia drove the neighbors crazy. That caused everyone to blame random people without thinking twice and they didn’t have any evidence.

Now that I have read “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street” I understand that the drama at around the beginning shows a lot of unexplainable and frightening events happen. As the story progresses I learn that the two detectives get closer to finding who is a monster, at the end the cliff hanger leaves at a confusing point.

Reading the drama again helped me notice the specific ways the characters behaved. I realized that Steve was more sensible, and wanted to talks things out, but Charlie was really paranoid, and believed in the “Monster”. I also realized the monster in this story, could be a metaphor for prejudice and irrationality. I think this mainly because the people were blaming each other, and making irrational decisions all because they wanted to point out the “Monster”.

I feel like the weird things happening in the town were just some difficulties in the service and they all should have just thought of calling their suppliers of the electricity and they could have though better as it can all be just a misunderstanding .

Reading the story for a second time made realize how truly paranoid and scared everyone was. First off after Charlie killed Pete in which he thought it was a monster all the suspicion of the person who was a “monster” shifted towards him. To top it off his lights when off in his house right after. But this doesn’t align properly and can’t mean anything. Their paranoia clouded their judgment so much that didn’t even realize that the same thing happened to Goodman a couple minutes ago. Because their high levels of paranoia they weren’t thinking rationally. This doesn’t happen unless the levels of paranoia are incredibly high.

After reading the drama a second time, I am better understanding the relationship between Steve, Goodman, and the other neighbors better. I can also better understand their emotions on what’s been happening in in their town, they feel paranoid and are starting to get way too scared to a point that they are even accusing people that they know and trusted for years.

After my second reading, I better understood the characters emotions. When I read again, I payed more attention to the stage directions which showed how they were feeling. Like when Charlie accidentally kills Pete, the stage directions help me understand that he was desperate to prove himself that he didn’t mean to kill him.

After reading “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” a second time, I can analyze a difference about an inference I made about the first time I read this selection. That difference starts with the first look upon the conclusion. I started reading up until the line “That’s right, looking up at the sky as if ...as if he were waiting for something. [A pause.] As if he were looking for something. ” This made me have a progression of suspense about the mysterious shadow figure standing on a neighbor’s patio was Mr. Goodman, and maybe he was the monster. Of course, as I am talking about differences, when I saw this again (close read), I realized that it was what expected to be Charlie, as stated in the passage. Now, it comes to this: if Mr. Goodman was the monster or Charlie was the monster. The woman had a very good tactic to persuade me into thinking that Charlie was the monster. Charlie said he “accidentally” executed Pete Van Horn, another neighbor(?), and thought that he was the monster. But, then again, the woman also stated that she saw Mr. Goodman outside a patio. Hand-in-hand, I have a strong feeling that Charlie is the monster, concluding my difference about the monster decision.

After my second reading of monsters due on Maple Street I better understand that the Charlie is accusing everyone but himself and how fearful the characters were. In the first read I didn’t really pay attention to the specific parts that showed the fearfulness but in the second read I looked more closely and noticed the parts I didn’t in the first read. -Joshya

After my second time reading the monsters on maple street, I understand more of everyone’s perspective. I understand why people felt so paranoid, why some people didn’t feel paranoid, why people blamed we they did etc.

After reading the story for a second time, I understood the actions of the character more. When the characters were in fear, they were more likely to make bad, costly decisions. I also understood that the actions of the characters were mainly like the others, they were trying to all just agree on someone to blame, a scapegoat.
