I really liked the principal of using taxes as a way to fund early education. Giving local residents and families a sense of "buy in" to the early education process undoubtedly gave early educators support but likely forced some children to stay in school longer than they would have originally without the financial aspect.

All the way up through antebellum school, moral lessons were at the forefront of education. While many would argue that this is lacking in modern education, I would argue the opposite. With technology allowing students to essentially have a world full of education and answers on their phones, tablets, computers, etc, I feel now more than ever you'll start to see teachers trying to interweave morals and life lessons into curriculum.

Yes they will read the same books and study the same arithmetic, you will see a different educational environment and direction when comparing schools of the suburbs to rural communities and northern cities schools as opposed to southern towns.
