My Tomato Plants (EXAMPLE)

I grow tomatoes every summer. This summer, I observed the leaves start to turn yellow and curl. It stopped producing tomatoes. The soil was very moist. One of the tomatoes that fell off that plant had tiny insect eggs in it. EWW!

I questioned (wondered) what was causing this to happen. Based on my observations, I believe that the plant is getting too much water. I decided to test my theory. I hypothesized that if I water the tomatoes every other day, instead of every day, then the health of the tomatoes would improve. For the next 2 weeks I reduced the amount of water, but the tomato plant did not recover. I observed that the tomato plant continued to turn yellow. No tomatoes or flowers were being produced. My hypothesis was proven incorrect. I concluded that overwatering was not the main problem. Now it is time to test another theory.
