In my 3rd-grade classroom, I have noticed that one of my students, Yang da, is struggling with reading comprehension. He often has difficulty understanding the meaning of texts and answering questions about them. I am concerned that he may have a learning disability that is impacting his ability to learn.

        5 Develop differentiated instruction:
While waiting for the results of the assessments, I will develop differentiated instruction to meet Yang da's individual needs.

This may involve providing accommodations such as:

1) extra time for assignments: By providing Yangda with additional time to complete his assignment, I am recognizing that he may require more time to process information, organize his thoughts, or demonstrate his understanding.

This accommodation helps to level the playing field and ensures that Yang da with different learning needs has equal opportunities to succeed.

2) breaking down reading passages into smaller chunks: This strategy is known as chunking or scaffolded reading.
Chunking involves dividing longer texts or reading passages into smaller, more manageable sections. By doing so, struggling readers are presented with shorter and more focused portions of the text, which can help reduce cognitive overload and improve comprehension.
This approach allows students to process information in smaller increments, making it easier for them to grasp and retain the content.

3) using graphic organizers to help Yang da organize and represent information:
By incorporating graphic organizers into instruction, I can cater to different learning styles and provide additional support to students like Yang da who may require visual aids and who is struggling with note-taking, organization, or expressing his ideas in a linear format.
