         <title>November 2021: France returns 26 treasures looted from Benin</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After passing a bill in 2020 that allowed France to return cultural artifacts to country's former colonial territories in Benin and in Senegal, a major review of <a href="https://www.quaibranly.fr/en/exhibitions-and-events/at-the-museum/exhibitions/">Quai Branly museum</a>'s collection was started to identify works believed to have been acquired through violence or coercion. In November 2021, France handed back 26 treasures that were looted from Benin. Of this total 92.6% accessed the internet via mobile phones.<br><br>Living in a country that has access to a stable internet connection without internet censorship or significant government control can create a misconception that these circumstances are applicable globally. Additionally, factors such as working infrastructure, financial privilege of owning a working mobile phone or a computer, and linguistic barriers play a role in what's accessible and to whom.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
