Should the Election of the president under the constitution be changed?

Delegates struggled to decide how to elect a president, who was to head the executive branch of the new government. More than 60% of Americans agreed that the constitution should be amended allowing the U.S. presidents to be elected by popular vote rather than electoral college system.

I agree with tossing the electoral college system because it defeats the purpose of this country saying that we, the people, choose who dictates our country when that isn't the case. So i believe that the presidential race should be ran off popular vote and that would also get more people engaged to voting for their next president.
