Introduction

Human actions can have a big effect on the environment, especially in large cities. Many cities produce huge amounts of waste every day, which can harm the planet. When people are not careful with resources, problems such as pollution and water waste can occur. Urbanisation also changes the natural environment and affects wildlife. These problems show how human behaviour can impact the world around us.

Paragraph 1

One major problem in cities is the large amount of waste people produce. When rubbish is thrown away carelessly, it often ends up in landfills or pollutes the land and water. Too much waste can make cities dirty and unsafe for people and animals. Another issue is the increase in traffic in big cities. Cars and buses release harmful gases that cause air pollution and can make it harder for people to breathe.

Paragraph 2

Urbanisation also has a strong effect on nature. As cities grow larger, forests and natural habitats are often destroyed to build houses, roads, and buildings. This can cause animals to lose their homes and reduce the number of plants in an area. Another problem is when people waste water in their daily lives. If too much water is wasted, there may not be enough clean water for everyone in the future.

Conclusion

In conclusion, human actions can cause many environmental problems in cities. Too much waste, air pollution from traffic, and the loss of natural habitats can all harm the planet. Wasting water also creates problems for future generations. However, people can make better choices to reduce these problems. By protecting nature and using resources carefully, cities can become cleaner and healthier places to live. 🌍

Well written Manit. It would have been good if you had given some suitable subheading.

Thank you

Ms. Aaron

Vanya Harjani 6C- How is cloud seeding done?

Cloud seeding is a scientific method used to help clouds produce more rain. It is often used in dry areas where extra water is needed for people, farming, and the environment. Scientists use special technology to encourage clouds to release precipitation.

Finding Suitable Clouds

First, scientists look for the right kind of clouds. These clouds must already contain water vapour but may not be producing rain. Meteorologists study weather forecasts, satellites, and radar to decide when cloud seeding will work best.

Releasing Seeding Particles

Next, tiny particles are released into the clouds using aeroplanes, rockets, or ground machines. These particles are usually made of silver iodide or salt. When they enter the cloud, they act as surfaces where water droplets can form and combine.

Rain Formation

Finally, the water droplets grow larger as more water gathers around the particles. When the droplets become too heavy to stay in the cloud, they fall to the ground as rain or snow.

Conclusion

In conclusion, cloud seeding helps increase rainfall by encouraging water droplets in clouds to grow and fall as precipitation. However, it can only work if suitable clouds are already present in the sky. 🌧️

You have tried well Vanya, however, you needed to put in more of consequences to your topic. You have given a good introduction and conclusion to your writing

Ms. Aaron

This pollution harms the ocean and the living things in it.

Plastic bags, bottles, and other rubbish often come from land. People sometimes throw plastic on the ground.

How Are Fossil Fuels Formed/Extracted?

Have you ever heard someone saying the phrase 'Fossil Fuels'? Well that is what we are going to talk about today. They play a crucial role in our daily lives although it has a significant and bad impact on the environment. But, here is the big question: What exactly are they? For that you will have to dive deeper.

What are fossil fuels and how are they formed?

Fossil fuels are non-renewable energy sources that are formed over millions of years from the buried remains of old plants and animals; prehistoric plants and marine animals die and settle, after many years they get covered in layers of sand, silt and mud, later they slowly form under pressure. They are rich in carbons and hydrocarbons. They are formed under intense heat deep underground.

How are fossil fuels harmful?

Burning fossil fuels release greenhouse gases like Carbon Dioxide which cause climate change- extreme weather conditions or intense heat- greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere which makes it warmer if too much gas is released. It also causes air pollution and water/land contamination which can lead to heart disease and cancer. In addition, it can also cause habitat destruction.

Why are fossil fuels important?

They provide reliable and high density energy for electricity. And it helps in industrial manufacturing as well. They support millions of jobs and are essential for the production of plastic, fertilisers and pharmaceuticals (medicine or any substance used to cure infections or diseases).

What are the main types of fossil fuels?

The main types of fossil fuels are coal, oil and natural gas.

Coal is formed by dead plants in swampy and oxygen-poor environments. Oil/Petroleum are formed from the dead marine plants and animals that sink. Natural gas form in the same way as oil but instead are created in hotter and deeper burial of organic matter resulting in hydrocarbons.

In conclusion, fossil fuels are very dangerous and harmful, however they are essential for making electricity, plastic and much more. But always remember, we should not use fossil fuels too much as we already know the impact it would have on us. Today I hope you learned something important and something that you did not know about.

Well done Alia. You have written your composition keeping all key features in mind. I am proud of how you push yourself to get better at your writing skills.

Ms. Aaron

The consequences of melting glaciers

Global warming, Greenhouse gases, deforestation comes in the too number 1 reasons of melting glaciers. As the temperatures rise including with Antarctica ice is melting causing glaciers to be just below a pool of water.

When glaciers melt the water flows into the oceans causing sea levels to rise. This can lead to flooding and droughts occur more often. And because of these floods people in the coastal areas have to move due to flooding and droughts.

Another consequence is the loss of freshwater sources. Many rivers depend on glaciers for their water supply. If glaciers continue to melt and eventually disappear some areas may suffer from water shortage. This can affect

drinking water, farming, and the survival of animals.

Melting glaciers also effect wildlife.Animals that live in cold regions depend on ice and glaciers for their habitat. When glaciers melt, these animals lose places to live, hunt, and raise their young.

In conclusion, melting glaciers can lead to rising sea levels, water shortages, and harm to wildlife. Protecting the environment and reducing global warming are important steps to help slow down glacier melting and protect the Earth for the future.

Thank you Chrisann for a well written text.

Frogs are cold-blooded amphibians. Amphibians are animals that can walk on land and swim in water.

The process in which a tadpole grows into a frog is called metamorphosis.

A mother frog lays about 4000 eggs in a lake or pond. These eggs are very soft and have no shell. Making them really sensitive.

After 3-6 weeks, tiny tadpoles hatch and swim around to find -pants to feed on. The tadpoles still have gills so they can’t leave the water.

In time, the tadpoles start to grow legs. Firstly, the hind legs appear. Then, the lungs begin to develop and finally the front legs appear. The tadpoles start to look more like frogs and are known as “froglets”. The froglets become more adventurous. But as a result many of them are eaten by large fish and water insects.

After 3 months, the froglet’s lungs are fully developed so they can get out of the water and breathe. Their tails will shrink away and vanish.

The froglets are now fully grown frogs. And this is also known as the cycle of frogs.

Fact: During winter, the frogs will go and hibernate at the bottom of the pond.

Well tried. You could have put in some subheadings. I do not see any consequencial writing to this topic. Remember to check the features when you do a self check and make the necessary changes in the final copy.

Ms. Aaron

Have you ever wondered what a food chain is? A food chain shows how energy moves from one living thing to another.A food chain starts from plants then gets eaten by a herbivore then finally gets eaten by a carnivore. All living things depend on food for survival and nutrients.

What are the causes of food chain disruption

The main causes of a food chain getting disrupted is overhunting by humans, deforestation, natural disasters.Climate change can also cause food chain disruption for example melting glaciers effect animals in the arctic and polar areas making animals lose their habitat, lack of food and less chance of survival.

how does food chain disruption effect animals?

Food chain disruption affects animals by making species endangered, animals struggling to fin their proper food and mostly animals competing for a specific food. This usually happens when a food chain gets disrupted causing animals to starve. Another effect of food chain disruption is predators struggling to find their food since their prey’s species could be endangered.

How does food chain disruption effect plants and the environment?

Food chain disruption affects plants and the environment by having less trees and plants due to habitat losses due to deforestation and overhunting. Another effect of food chain disruption is ecosystems being unbalanced due to endangered and extinct species

Good job with this topic Zahra. Which then causes it to gently shoot up materials into connective clouds to speed up the collision of water droplets which leads to rain later on.

Why is cloud seeding important?

Cloud seeding is needed in many countries that barely have any water to survive or deserts in need of rain. Cloud seeding increases the amount of rain by 10% to 35%.

Introduction-

I think it is about time everyone knows about global warming and many know it affects glaciers but not everyone knows the impacts of melting glaciers. You may think it is just big chunks of ice melting, what’s the big deal? Well today i am going to help you know the bad things that will happen if global warming doesn’t stop-whether you like it or not.

Second para-

First of all, we all know how big a glacier is and because of it’s size, the oceans can overflow and flood. Creating a big paradox and destruction. From the amount of glaciers that exist right now, about 92% of the earth will be water ,there will be barely any land. Secondly, the animals in the coldest of areas like polar bears and penguins loose big chunks of habitat sometimes stranded on one small block of ice in the middle of the ocean. They don’t have place to live, nothing to eat just waiting to reach an island far away-those poor animals.

Please complete your composition and self check before you write your final draft.

Ms. Aaron

Cyrus-What are volcanoes?

Volcanoes are some of the most powerful natural events on Earth. When a volcano erupts, it can send hot lava, ash, and gases high into the sky. These eruptions can change the landscape and affect the people and animals living nearby. In this explanation, we will look at what happens inside the Earth that causes a volcano to erupt.

Deep inside the Earth, rocks can melt because the temperature is extremely high. When rock melts, it becomes a thick liquid called magma. This magma gathers in a large space under the volcano called a magma chamber. As more magma collects, gases inside it start to create pressure.

When the pressure becomes too great, the volcano erupts. Magma, ash, gases, and pieces of rock burst out of the volcano and into the air. Once the magma reaches the Earth’s surface, it is called lava. The lava flows down the sides of the volcano and slowly cools, forming new rock.

Volcanic eruptions can cause a lot of damage to the environment and to people living nearby. Hot lava can destroy homes, roads, and forests as it flows down the sides of a volcano. Ash clouds can cover towns, make it hard to breathe, and damage crops. For example, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the Roman city of Pompeii when ash and hot gases buried the entire city.

Well done Cyrus. Please add a conclusion to your topic.

Ms. Aaron

Mishka 6C - How do plays go from script to stage?

Plays are one of the best success in History. A play is a dramatic, scripted work designed to be performed by actors on stage before a live audience. Plays exist to entertain people and to build interest in the story and even in theatre.

Casting the roles

Before putting on a show, the director has to cast the roles so we know who will be playing which character. In this stage actors go through various auditions since they get shortlisted for each role. When the cast is finalised, the director calls them to work on the play.

Getting the scripts

Receiving the scripts is really important since this is the piece they are going to be working on. Firstly, they will go through a run on the script the first line run. If anything is wrong they will edit the script and the rector will make notes of it. For example; an actor saw a misspelled word they will edit the script or if they need to do another action in a scene, they will edit the script. After this process they will come with the final script they are going to follow.

Memorising lines

This is a very important stage because transitions an actor from simply reading a script to fully embodying a character, enabling believable, emotional, and reactive performances. Actors have diverse techniques to memorise lines like: First letter method; Write out the first letter of every word in your scene on a piece of paper. Use this as a prompt to recite the full lines, which helps trigger memory without just reading. Reading and listening; Record the entire scene, leaving gaps for your lines, and listen to it on a loop while commuting or exercising. Writing by hand; Physically writing out your lines or the entire script by hand can aid in retention better than typing. If you are committed to memorising your lines it will take about a few hours to a few days. A few directors say to memorise the lines before and after you so you know when you have to say your line. But what is more unbelievable is a few directors also say to memorise the whole script so if someone forgets the others can improve. Once they memorise their lines they do line runs without the scripts.

Blocking

Blocking is as important as memorising lines, they both are like siblings. Memorising lines will help with the blocking and blocking will help for memorising lines. Blocking means adding actions to the scenes/script. This makes the play a hundred times better since there will be more visual action to see. Actors and directors chose what is the best action for each set of lines.

Rehearsals

Another word for rehearsals is “Tech run”. This is also really crucial since actors recite and practice the whole play again and again. In this stage, directors point out mistakes and actors fix it. This will help in polishing the play for the audience to see. A day before the play the have their final dress rehearsals.

Right before the show

Let us go backstage and see what chaos is happening. Backstage actors are putting on their costumes, make up and even looking at the script. This is the most chaotic part of plays. Actors go to their wings and wait or their cue to enter.

The Show!

When the show starts there is spotlight, background music, lights and blackouts are all handled by the tech booth. If anyone forgets their lines the other actor which are present on stage will improve and if not then the tech booth will have a blackout and then will continue the play like nothing ever happened. After the show is done they do a curtain call where all the actors come out from backstage and the wings to take a bow. Here they will say the actors real name for example; Here is Harry Potter played by Daniel Radcliffe. Curtain call is like the credits of a movie.

I think it shouldn’t only be the actors which should be thanked but the team behind it all like the director, support staff and so many more. Today I hope you learned the secrets behind the backstage in preparing the play.

Excellently written Mishka. Just be a little careful with the word limit. Super proud of how you show progress in all that you do in leaps and bounds.

Ms. Aaron

Introduction

How you ever wondered how rain falls everywhere even in deserted areas and places where drought occurs? I mean in places like UAE and Africa where there is a scarcity of water for growing crops. Today I will explain what is cloud seeding, and why cloud seeding is done. Is cloud seeding a good thing or a bad thing? Let’s find out!

What is cloud seeding?

Cloud seeding is a weather modification technique used to increase rain and sometimes snow. The process includes releasing tiny particles, such as salt and silver iodate into existing clouds using planes or drones. These particles act as magnets for water vapor, helping droplets combine and fall as rain.

Why is cloud seeding done?

Cloud seeding is done to increase rainfall in places where there is not enough water. Planes and drones add tiny particles into clouds to help water droplets join together and fall as rain. This helps farmers grow crops, fills rivers and dams, and reduces drought. It is also sometimes used to reduce fog at airports and make the weather clearer.

Conclusion

In conclusion cloud seeding is used to prevent drought in deserted areas. Cloud seeding is a good thing because it gives water to places which have a scarcity of water, so it because very helpful. Cloud seeding can also be a bad thing too, because it may cause unexpected flooding like how it did in the UAE in the year of 2024.

Well written Tej. Can you add the consequences to this topic in your final draft.

Ms. Aaron

(I couldn't edit the first one) What happens when coral reefs bleach? - Samara 6D

Have you ever wondered why coral reefs bleach? Well, when coral face rising ocean temperatures, they are forced to expel the tiny, colorful algae that provides their food, leaving them white and starved but still alive. In this essay, I will explore the consequences of bleached coral reefs.

Economic Consequences

Firstly, coral supports 25% of all marine species. When they die, it equals to a loss of habitats for fish, crustaceans, etc, leading to possible endangerment. Also, the loss of reefs can disrupt food chains of aquatic animals, affecting even large predators like snappers and barracudas. Furthermore, species that fully depend on coral for food and shelter can face extinction, reducing the variety of marine animals.

Economic Consequences

In addition, bleached coral reefs restrict tourism leading to 80 - 90% reduction in tourist visitations. Coral is also a chemical in medicine for cancer. No coral equals less potential for future medical breakthroughs. Moreover, reef degradation can result in annual losses; this can directly impact over 8 million jobs by 2050.

Social Consequences

Likewise, over 500 million people rely on reef fisheries from their protein and no coral leads to a threat to health and nutrition. Correspondingly, reefs act like breakwaters. If there are no breakwaters, there can be an increase in erosion, flooding, and damage from storms in coastal communities. Building artificial seawalls to match this level of protection and security would cost trillions of dollars. Also, man - made barriers are often less effective than natural reefs and can be environmentally damaging to construct.

Overall, coral reefs are beautiful and they play a huge role in the ocean, be it food and shelter for species, or a chemical of medicine for cancer. But, there are many reasons reefs bleach that are caused by humans such as pollution and overfishing. Therefore, we need to stop polluting the ocean and protect the coral reefs!

Excellent work Samara. This is so explanatory by itself.

Ms. Aaron

Regular exersice is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. It includes physical activities such as walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, and playing sports. Exercise helps the body function properly by strengthening muscles, improving heart health, and supporting mentalwell-being. When exercise is not done regularly, the body gradually becomes weaker and less efficient

Effects on Muscles and Strength

One major effect of not exercising is muscle weakness. Muscles need regular movement to stay strong and flexible. Without physical activity, they become stiff and lose strength. As a result, everyday tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting objects, or walkinglong distances may feel more tiring. Over time, the body may lose balance and coordination, increasing the risk of injury.

Effects on the Heart and Lungs

Exercise strengthens the cardiovascular system, which includes the heart and lungs. When a person does not exercise, the heart does not get enough practice working efficiently. This can reduce stamina and make a person feel tired more quickly. The lungsmay also become less effective at delivering oxygen to the body, which lowers overall energy levels.

Effects on Weight and Metabolism

Physicalactivity helps the body burn calories and maintain a healthy weight. When exercise is avoided, the metabolism slows down. This means fewer calories are burned throughout the day. Extra energy is stored as fat, which can lead to weight gain. Over time, this may increase the risk of health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Effects on Mental Health

Exercise does not only benefit the body; it also improves mental health. During physical activity, the brain releases chemicals that help reduce stress and improve mood Without exercise, these chemicals are produced in smaller amounts. This may cause feelings of stress, low mood, anxiety, or lack of focus. In addition, exercise improves sleep quality, so without it, sleep problems may occur

Long-Term Health Consequences

If a person continues to avoid exercise for a long time, overall fitness levels decrease. The body becomes less strong, less flexible, and less prepared for physical challenges. This can affect daily performance and increase the risk of chronic diseases in the future.

Conclusion

In conclusion, regular exercise is necessary to keep the body strong, improve stamina, maintain a healthy weight, andsupport mental well-being. Without exercise, physical strength decreases, energy levels drop, and health risks increase. Therefore, maintaining an active lifestyle is important for long-term health.

Kunal, you have displayed an excellent skill with your ability to write compositions.

What Happens When Volcanoes Erupt?

Introduction:

A volcanic eruption happens when magma, which is melted rock stored deep inside the Earth, is pushed up through an opening called a vent and bursts onto the surface. This usually happens because the tectonic plates that make up the Earth's crust move and crack, creating weak spots where the magma can escape. Sometimes pressure builds up inside the magma chamber for many years before the volcano finally explodes with enormous force.

First Consequence:

Firstly, when a volcano erupts, it shoots out huge amounts of lava, which is what magma is called once it reaches the surface. As a result, the lava flows down the sides of the volcano at very fast, burning everything like forests, buildings and roads. This causes destruction in the areas surrounding the volcano, forcing people to leave their homes immediately.

Second Consequence:

Another consequence is that volcanoes release huge clouds of volcanic ash and toxic gases, high into the atmosphere. The ash can travel hundreds of kilometres and kill crops, destroy farmland and ruin water supplies, making them unsafe to use. So entire communities can be left without food and clean water, turning a natural disaster into a serious humanitarian crisis.

Wider Consequence:

Eventually, the effects of a volcanic eruption spread far. The thick clouds of ash and gas in the sky can block sunlight, which leads to colder temperatures. This is sometimes called a volcanic winter. Animals lose their habitats, plants cannot grow properly, and communities living near the volcano might suffer from breathing problems because of the poisonous gases in the air.

Conclusion:

In conclusion volcanic eruptions are one of the most powerful and destructive natural events on Earth. Overall, they cause enormous damage to people, animals and the environment, and burning lava flows, choking ash clouds, and colder temperatures affecting the whole planet. For this reason, scientists called volcanologists carefully monitor volcanoes so that communities can be warned and kept safe before an eruption takes place.

Excellent work Meerab. I am so proud of how well you have worked on your research and writing skills.

Ms. Aaron

(Introduction)

Have you ever wondered what effect happens when rivers flood? There are 5 stages of river flooding. Over flooding destroys property, pauses public services, takes up a lot of land and space, etc. In this essay, we will dive into this topic and explain these consequences in greater detail.

(Paragraph 1)

Economic and structural damage

First, overflooding can destroy farmland, crops and even kill livestock. This can cause scarcity in markets and damage food supply. Secondly, buildings, infrastructure and power lines may get disconnected or demolished. This can cause isolation as people cannot contact others online or drive to meet family and friends. Adding on, services would be paused/abruptly stopped. This could be caused by power line’s disconnected, submerged commercial areas, or being understaffed because of workers not being able to work/go to the certain area they need to.

(Paragraph 2)

Environmental impacts

Further more, floodwaters can carry pollution because of it flows through cities and other infrastructure. The water picks up all of the dirt and dust that is on these structures, causing the water to be dirty and contaminated. Next, intense water flow can cause erosion of river beds and banks. This makes the possibility of land slides increase more. Also, vegetation such as plants and trees get teared down and that can block roadwork once the flood is over.

(Paragraph 3)

Social impact

Fast flowing water can be a big danger and risk to people. Really fast water can be unexpected, lives can be at stake and severe health hazards are present.

Then, houses can be destroyed and forced evacuation is needed. Diseases can spread from the dirty and contaminated water, which would cause panic and chaos. Plus, stress can be caused by loss of loved ones, personal possessions and homes as well.

(Paragraph 4/ Conclusion)

Overall, overflowing of rivers are extremely destructive, causing many consequences. It can damage buildings, services, power lines and even people. It is always best to always stay alert and stay safe if this ever happens. Thank you!

Wow! This is perfectly written.

Forest trees cut down is a very big problemin our life. This is called deforestation it affects alot in our daily lives. Each year apoximately 10 billion trees are cut down globally anddaiy about to 40 to 42 million trees get cut down.

Why are they needed?

Forest trees are needed as they take in carbon dioxide and breathe oyxgen. When trees are cut downthey stop taking in the carbon which leads to global warming which is when the earths tempature rises faster leading to rising sea levels which could be fatal. Also heat waves and superstorms can form.

What does a forest contain and what can be gone?

Forests also contain 70% of the worlds wild animals this includes Jaguars , insects and Orangutans when the trees are cut down they lose their habitat and food sources. Also without a safe place to eat or live some animals cant survive sometimes leading to extinction.

Can it disrupt the water cycle

Trees also play as a vital role in moving water from the ground back into the air. Without trees to release water vapour it leads to less rainfall and drier climates. Also tree roots act like giant sponges. When it rains heavily they soak up water. Without them the water stays on the surface causing devestating flash floods which could be fatal.

In conclusion trees shouldnt be cut down as it is needed and very helpful to us and the animals.

Well written Raiden

Ms. Aaron

Cloud seeding has been a simple yet powerful method to produce rain or snow in many hot or dry countries for more then 75-80 years now, and it has improved over time and now people have rain in dry conditioned areas such as China , India , Saudi Arabia , the UAE and so many more. There are 2 ways of cloud seeding , Silver Iodide and Dry Ice.

Silver Iodide Cloud Seeding

Silver Iodide cloud seeding is the most commonly used method of cloud seeding for many years, its structure is similar to ice and when implanted into the clouds, it forms snowfall or rainfall, the reason this type of cloud seeding is the most common because it is very effective in mimicking natural ice which is confirmed by multiple scientists who took over 1000 tests in the span of 10 years.

Dry Ice Cloud Seeding

Dry Ice is also another method of could seeding , the structure of dry ice is like tiny salt particles, and when planted into clouds, the water droplets in it freeze, and so those the air around the cloud which produces snow or hail. Dry ice cloud seeding has been around for 80 years and it is scientifically proven to work, but it varies on the type of cloud that it is planted in.

Conclusion

Cloud seeding is extremely effective and common for dry areas, it benefits in reducing droughts that can saved millions of people’s lives, cloud seeding has been around for decades and is still used to this very day.

Well written Srushti. In this text I will be explaining questions about cloud seeding and the steps of cloud seeding.

The steps of cloud seeding.

The first step in cloud seeding starts with an aircraft releasing flares into the clouds or ground-based generators.

Cloud seeding also helps replenish ground-water and clear fog or clear air pollution.

In conclusion, Cloud seeding is needed for agriculture or domestic use and many countries wouldn’t survive without cloud seeding, as there are many countries in need of rain. Therefore cloud seeding is the reason we can enjoy rain.

Well done for redoing this task.

A volcano erupts when pressure builds up deep inside the Earth from hot melted rock called magma. This magma forms when rocks in the mantle melt due to very high heat and pressure. When the pressure becomes too strong, the magma rises and bursts out of the volcano as lava, along with ash, gas, and rocks. Lava can be extremely hot, usually between about 700°C and 1,200°C, hot enough to burn and destroy almost anything in its path. Volcanic eruptions are very dangerous because they can cause fires, ash clouds that make it hard to breathe, and fast-moving flows that can damage homes and land.

(SAAD 6D)

Please complete your essay and self check using the features list.

Ms. Aaron

Jia 6D What happens when a volcano erupts?

Introduction
Have you ever wondered what is going on inside a volcano? A volcano is basically a giant hole in the ground that acts like a pressure valve for the Earth because there is so much heat and energy trapped inside. When it gets too hot and there is too much pressure deep underground the volcano erupts to let it all out. It is a really big deal because it changes everything around it in just a few minutes and scientists spend years trying to figure out when the next one will happen.

The Buildup
Deep under the surface it is so hot that rocks actually melt into a liquid. This melted rock is called magma. Since magma is lighter than the solid rocks around it it starts to move upward toward the surface. It collects in a big space called a magma chamber that sits right under the volcano. Think of it like a soda bottle that someone shook up really hard and is about to spray everywhere. There are lots of gas bubbles inside the magma that want to get out.

The Eruption
Once the magma hits the air we call it lava. If the magma is thin and runny it just flows down the side like a red river and people can usually walk away from it. But if the magma is thick and sticky the gases get trapped and it explodes with a huge bang that can be heard for miles. This sends ash, steam and big rocks called volcanic bombs flying into the sky. Sometimes a super fast cloud of hot ash and gas called a pyroclastic flow zooms down the mountain. These are very frightening because they move faster than a car and are incredibly hot so you cannot outrun them even if you are fast.

Immediate Hazards
There are other frightening things that happen during an eruption too. If the heat from the volcano melts snow on top of the mountain it creates giant mudslides called lahars. These look like flowing wet concrete and they can bury houses, cars, and bridges in a second. Also volcanic ash might look like soft snow but it is actually tiny pieces of glass and rock that are very heavy. It can make it hard to breathe and it can even break the engines on airplanes if they try to fly through the cloud.

Conclusion
Even though eruptions are frightening and cause a lot of damage they are also how the Earth makes new land for us to live on. After the lava cools down it eventually turns into really good soil where plants, trees, and flowers can grow well. Volcanoes are a crazy mix of being totally destructive and helping create new things at the same time and that is why they are so interesting to study. Some of the most famous volcanoes in the world like Mount Vesuvius are still being studied.

Superbly composed Jia. Well done and keep it up.

Ms. Aaron

Aleeza 6C- How Is Cloud Seeding Formed?

Introduction

Cloud seeding is a method people use to try to make more rain fall from clouds. It is often used in dry places where water is needed for people, animals, and farming. Instead of creating clouds from nothing, scientists work with clouds that are already in the sky. They help these clouds release the water inside them as rain. This process is carefully planned and depends on the right weather conditions.

Paragraph 1

First, scientists study the weather very carefully to find the right clouds for cloud seeding. Not all clouds can produce rain, so they look for ones that already have a lot of water inside them. These clouds may look thick and full but are not yet raining. Scientists also check the temperature, wind, and humidity to make sure the conditions are suitable. If everything is right, they decide it is a good time to begin cloud seeding.

Paragraph 2

Next, planes or special machines on the ground are used to release tiny particles into the clouds. These particles are usually made from salt or a substance called silver iodide. The planes fly close to or through the cloud and spread the particles so they can mix properly. The particles are extremely small, so they can travel easily inside the cloud and reach many areas.

Paragraph 3

After that, the particles mix with the tiny water droplets inside the cloud. These droplets are very small and light, so they stay floating in the air. They need something to stick to in order to grow bigger. The particles act like a surface for the water to gather around. As more and more water collects on them, the droplets slowly begin to grow in size.

Paragraph 4

As the droplets continue to grow, they become heavier. The cloud cannot hold them up forever, so eventually they become too heavy to stay in the air. When this happens, they start to fall down towards the ground as rain. This is how cloud seeding helps increase rainfall from clouds that might not have rained on their own.

Paragraph 5

In colder clouds, a slightly different process can happen. The particles can help form ice crystals instead of water droplets. These ice crystals grow larger as more water freezes onto them. As they fall through warmer air, they melt and turn into rain before reaching the ground. This also helps produce more rainfall in the area.

Conclusion

In conclusion, cloud seeding is a useful method that helps clouds release rain by adding tiny particles. These particles allow water droplets or ice crystals to grow until they become heavy enough to fall. Although it does not always work and depends on the weather, it can still be helpful in places that need more rain and water.

A good composition Aleeza. Please remove subheadings as Paragraph 1 and rename these subheading.

Ms. Aaron

What happens when a food chain is disrupted - Vihaan 6D (I accidentaly deleted it so i had to do it again)

An ecosystems balance depends on the smooth flow of energy from one organism to another. It shows where energy moves - from a producer and ends with an apex producer.

When a food chain is disrupted, it can be devastating to humans and other animals as it will have serious negative effects.

There are many causes of food chain disruption, such as destruction of habitat, overfishing, and removal of key apex predators. Habitat destruction, driven by agriculture, and deforestation, causes critical biodiversity loss and disrupts food chains by removing species from ecosystems. Over fishing is another factor that disrupts food chains. It is when people catch fish faster than they reproduce, so the population depletes at and alarming rate and eventually, fish will end up getting extinct.

In conclusion, the disruption of a food chain whether through the loss of a species, habitat destruction, or pollution triggers a huge effect that can destabilize or collapse an entire ecosystem. Because the energy which flows from one organism to another are interconnected, the removal of a single organism leads to population imbalances, where some species overpopulate while others starve, often resulting in a severe loss of biodiversity. This means that crucial animals which us humans eat might go extinct and us humans could potentially lack food to eat.

Vihaan, this looks very basic. Can you please add subheadings and put in the information where needed. You may also add a picture to your composition. Please looks at the samples posted and checklist. Thank you

Ms. Aaron
