         <description><![CDATA[<div>When dealing with minor classroom discussions, the text provides several examples that could be used when in a behavior situation. It first states to ignore the behavior, which could be good when the student is doing something for attention. Next the teacher could give a nonverbal warning, which tells the student you want them to stop. Using proximity control and using his or her name in an example gets their attention as well. Lastly, distracting the student with an activity or task could be beneficial. </div>]]></description>

Make sure the teacher does not appear threatening and should communicate empathy. They should also provide options and offer assistance as well. It states that using I-messages and providing a positive choice and clarifying that the student must make the choice. All of these options could help any teacher dealing with behavior in their classroom, whether it is a newer teacher or a veteran teacher. </div>]]></description>
