         <title>Second:  The plant nursery grows the seedlings from seeds they have collected in the New Zealand bush.  The seeds need water, light and soil to germinate.  Germinate means the seeds have sent out  roots and shoots and are ready to grow.</title>

         <title>Third:  The LSC had 1000 native seedlings delivered to school.  There are five different types of seedlings to pot up.  There are Manuka, Kanuka, Harekeke or flax, Te kouka or Cabbage tree and Toe toe. </title>

         <title>Fourth:  We now need to fill the planter bags with potting mix.  Then we take the seedling plugs and plant them into the potting mix.  Make sure to cover the roots with the potting mix!</title>

         <title>Fifth:  In one years time the seedlings will be ready to plant out on farms and around streams.  This will be our job to plant our native plants into the ground.  Job well done by the LSC students at Northcote College.</title>
