They invaded and took over the land, kicking out the Nguni (Zulu, Xhosa, Swazi, Npdebele). Other group also lived in the Northeast called the Tsonga. WHen Europeans colonized South Africa, The Dutch had a colony called the Cape colony while the British took the surrounding area until 1795 until Britain took over the Cape colony. Soon after, in 1803, the Dutch took it back, but in 1806, the British took it over again. Physical Features: Some of the major physical features include: The Great Escarpment, there is the Capefold Mountains, a large coastline, The Limpopo and the Orange River.
Vegation: The vegation in South AFrica can vary from savananahs to grasslands with few trees and has a very dry western area. The Western cape of South Africa has very distinct grasses, bushes and trees, while the Eastern coast has more tropical vegation.
