As a first-year teacher in education, I found myself curating a discussion among my aspiring teachers. The topic was close to their hearts - why they wanted to join the teaching profession.

The classroom was abuzz with conversation, some groups more animated than others. Their chatter filled the room, each student eager to share their reasons, their hopes, and their dreams.

Yet, amidst this vibrant exchange, I noticed a discrepancy. In every group, a few voices dominated the conversation while others remained silent. I wondered, were they shy, or did they lack the same passion?

I decided to intervene, gently steering the discussion towards inclusivity. "Let's ensure we hear from everyone," I suggested, encouraging quieter students to share their perspectives.

The challenge was not just to facilitate a discussion, but to create an environment where every voice mattered. After all, teaching was about reaching out to all learners, and this was their first lesson.
