Hinduism had the caste system. The four classes were: priest, religious scholars. Then it was warriors and rulers. Third was herders and merchants. And last was servants, farmers and labors. It affected life because if you were born in to a class you had to stay in that class. You had to have a job in that class and you could not marry out side of the class. You also had to worship the gods and have sacrifices to breakout of the cycle of reincarnation, but it took multiple lifetimes.

Buddhism was mainly following the Four Noble Truths, and The Eightfold path. They mainly blelived in following the laws and finding enlightenment. If you found enlightenment you could break out of the cycle of reincarnation and become a Buddha. The first Buddha was Prince Siddharta. He was born a prince. But a Brahmin said that either he would be a prince, or if he saw suffering he would be a Buddha or the “Enlightened One.” As he grew up he lived the life of luxury. When he was married and had a son. Then his dad gave him more freedom. When he was out side the castle he saw oldness ,sickness and death. Then later he went to find enlightenment. At the edge of the forest he cut off his hair and got rid of his riches. After a long time when he was 35 he went under the Bodhi and meditated. There he fended off discontent, delight, and desire. Then he became the “Enlightened One.”
