It's crucial to make sure resources are credible because on the Internet, it's sometimes hard to tell if information is true or not-- or if the people posting it have good or enough knowledge on the topic.

You can make sure information is reliable, though, in many ways. One way to make sure information is reliable, is by checking if the resources URL and if it might be bias. URLS like edu, gov, etc can be reliable because they are written by credible sources.

So if you can find a .gov organization, something approved by a .gov organization, or someone with a PhD, they're likely to have better info than other sources. If information is not correct and it gets online, more people will believe it, more people will re-post it, and the vicious cycle continues.

One way is to make sure the person writing it as an expert because people can fake it. The internet is apart of the real world and there is not only the good people but also people who either do improper reaserch on a topic, or dont care at all. If you want the most reliable sources, look for the small things like .gov or .org can be reliable. Also if they are trying to get you to click on something, it can affect you in the long run with viruses. You can try and see if YOU can edit, if you can don't trust the source.

It is important to make sure information is correct because if it isn't then you could be doing or saying something that is not correct. You can check the URL to see if it is a reliable resource. If the URL has .edu or .gov that is a more reliable resource. Also look for the authors name, because that can tell you if they are an expert or not. One more thing, check multiple resources if you are unsure about your information.

In today's society, information is available at our fingertips, but with the rise of AI, it can be difficult to determine which sources are truly reliable. Misinformation or a lack of understanding can lead to confusion, mistrust, and the spread of false information. One way to evaluate a source’s credibility is to check whether the author is an expert in the field and to cross-reference multiple reputable sources. And don’t forget—your intuition is a powerful tool. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut. Happy researching, Magnolias!
