Hello, my name is Nick Torrenueva and welcome to my padlet wall. You will understand what I have learned with videos, pictures, and weblinks about how the government saves, spends and invests to help the economy also, you will see how you as an individual can do the same to help grow the economy in some way. The role of saving and investing is very important and on this page you will see how. This page has been organized into three seperate parts:

Part 1: Current overall Canadian economy, How and Why?
Part 2: How the government can save/invest to help the overall economy.
                                    Part 3: Word Document/Outro

Each part will contain different posts with various links that will help you understand what I have learned about the topic.

The following web-link is a valuable article about what you as a Canadian should do today to help the current economy. I found that this article could help me learn that I should always pay most attention to my personal economy, meaning that if I can spend and invest then do so, but if you are not in that position there is no problem with saving your money for personal reasons. This article was able to teach me that it is okay to care for yourself.

This video taught me that just 3 months ago, the Canadian economy was on a small rise due to the results of the American Presidential election. This was useful information to learn, that I found very interesting. I was unaware that something as small as ‘’ The Canadian way of living’’ is something that would play an important role for the economy, but more importantly this video taught me how investment in local/Canadian businesses is what the Canadian government needs people to do to help with economic growth. The video propelled me into doing more research about investment in Canadian companies to help economic growth.

The future is unknown, but we do know the Liberal government has spent a lot and will continue to do so, this chart illustrates the liberals spending and investing.

The following web link will direct you to the Ontario finance website where they explain how they will be investing to help grow the economy and create jobs. This page showed me exactly how the government was planning to invest with priority public infrastructure projects that would create jobs, value and increase the overall GDP. I found it interesting that the government is now planning to invest more than they have ever before in Ontario.

This web link directs you to an article about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announcing Canada’s decision to invest 1.2 Billion dollars to Ford and the Canadian automotive industry. I learned how investment such as this can help the overall economy. Creating and maintain over 800 jobs with this investment, will help to increase to GDP. I also found it interesting how involved Canada is with attempting to be the global center of the automotive industry.

The following video was produced by global news and talks again about how the government intends to achieve overall economic growth and how it has so far been unsuccessful. The current government intends to spend money while running a deficit to stimulate the economy, the problem is that the deficit continues to grow with what is said to be no improvement on the economic state. I found this video very interesting when the point was brought up that 81 billion will be spent over 11 years on infrastructure to create over 100 thousand jobs. If this can be achieved, economic growth will be inevitable.
