This artifact is an image showing The United States against Great Britain. The image matches the topic because Jays Treaty was put in place to settle issues between the two countries.
This topic is important because if Jays treaty wouldn't of been put in place we could possibly still be having issues with Great Britain today.

 The reason I picked this topic is because that it was the first major tax. This tax mostly effected farmers because they used Whiskey for there wheat. The farmers didn't like the tax so they started to protest,and which is now known as the Whiskey Rebellion.

During this time era there was a very severe domestic affair that occurred. Many people started rioting over the fact that there prized drink had been taxed because our government could not go without money to pay for there problems. 
The people during the whiskey rebellion that were into whiskey and lived because of this prized drink were very much so effected by the taxing of whiskey. The poeople had been getting frustrated because of the taxes, but it wouldn't be long before anyone would start protesting or rioting. The French were upset with the Americans. The Americans had made a deal with British. The French did not like the British, so in result the French saw to it that the Americans would pay the price. 
The French had been upset about the Americans making the treaty with Britain. The French sent agents over to America to seize goods, in result they were caught and since we did not want to mention their names they were called X,Y, and Z.

The artifact is importantly because I think it would be a great idea to have two little figures one as a European and the other as an American, that show trading in "Europe." So everyone can see it was okay then and there shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. This was included because I thought it was no harm done and they turned it that way. Also because some people would have not survived if they didn't trade. It was unfair and uncalled for.
