During the first weeks it was easy to get to the gym three (3) times a week and work out for an hour or more. I admit it was difficult pushing myself to the gym on days when I'd rather be outside in the sun and warmth of Fall but that resonates with the "outdoorsy" person, the environmental part of who I am and that's okay too.

My girls are always eager for a run down the road with MOM. They are a huge motivation for me when I absolutely can’t get to the gym on all three days... I feel my time with them becomes more therapeutic emotionally, physically and spiritually as I watch Heidi, Casey Jo, and Stella investigate new smells and play along the way. They LOVE walks with MOM down the road👍🏻

At the beginning of this project I feel I was in the preparation stage of change. I have always been active and in good shape. Healthy foods and exercise seemed a no brainer for me. Knowing at times it can be easy for me to slip out of routines and care for others before myself, this project is important for me to try to try new "healthy" habits that keep me balanced in the emotional and social segments of my wellness wheel. .

During this project I found I was experiencing GRIEF (emotional dimension) over my Aunt who passed in June, I had no energy. I buried my feelings and did a lot of nothing, my stage of change relapsed to precontemplation. I maintained my commitment with the gym when I could but I felt I was just going through the motions. I have since returned to "myself" with my fitness commitment becoming a lesson in healing and being patient with myself. Shortly before passing, my Aunt told me how proud she was of me over the years and reminded me to always take care of myself. This I will never forget.
Love you Tet ta’ (Czech for Auntie)

Finishing week nine I found my program over the past 10-12 weeks faced some challenges when initially I thought this would be easy. I tried to document my days at the gym, my feelings, weather, and alternate activities. Scheduling helped me understand what was going on and where I modified my exercise because of conflicts. With a visual I found that I did not feel I failed my program as I might have without

Music, has always been important in my life. Used to lighten my perspective when matters are troubling or help me focus on the positive, find the fun, and even the funny when I need to stay on task and avoid distractions. Music may not eliminate a problem or concern but I certainly get that "stop and think about it" feeling that allows me to find the energy to keep moving. : )
