The principle that was most interesting to me was principle #5 because I think the connection between motivation, belonging, and success is so true. If a student doesn't feel like they belong or they don't feel comfortable in the classroom, they won't be as motivated to try, and then they won't see as much success.

I found principle #3 to be the most interesting. I think effective feedback is incredibly important to the success of students. Effective feedback allows students to see what they are doing well, and where they could improve. Without effective feedback, some students would have a very difficult time pinpointing what they need to do to improve in order to be successful.

I found all of the learning principles to be super interesting and enlightening. And although I connected more to other learning principles, I thought it was really interesting to learn more about principle 2. In education, we worry a lot about retention and how our students can better retain the knowledge they learn. Still, I had always thought teachers had more of a passive role in whether or not students retain the knowledge we teach them. However, the principle of retaining knowledge and retention debunks this thought. It is a teacher's job to help guide students in applicable practices and help provide ways that students can utilize to better hold on to the information they learn. I had a statistics teacher in high school who was great at this and although I'm not too fond of math and try to block it from my memory, I still remember the statistics curriculum because of how great she was.

The principle that was most interesting to me was principle #1. I liked this principle the most because it is good to learn how the students understand new ideas and things going on in the classroom. If you are able to know how the kids understand learning and the new ideas you can succeed more in the future with them. Creating a social environment in the classroom is a good thing to do also because once the kids know each other and feel comfortable they will be able to ask questions easier and expand their social skills.

The learning science principles were all very interesting to learn more about. I found all of them very interesting, but the one that stood out to me the most. What motivates individuals to learn is something that’s crucial for a teacher to understand. I think that principle five makes some excellent points and is something teachers need to understand and implement to be successful at teaching their students.
