I have quite a few social media platforms which I use to keep in touch with friends and family all around the world. In addition to this I use social media to communicate with colleagues. After working with the DRPS this summer I learned the importance of keeping a clean and appropriate social scene online (making things private doesn't prevent people from seeing it) so tend to keep personal feelings to my close circle of friends. In excess I also run my school's social media accounts so value the importance of keeping a clean image online.

I keep most of my social media accounts private, so only people I know can follow them or add me. I have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, Whatsapp all downloaded on my phone. Even if I'm not posting I'm usually scrolling through. Social media has made it so much easier to communicate with family and friends overseas, by simply being able to log on and see what they might be up to. I'm mostly active on social media during summer when I'm constantly doing interesting activities, and a lot less active during the school year unless its winter/march break. I'm far more active on instagram/snapchat in comparison to facebook which I usually just update with family photos.

I mainly use Snapchat to share funny moments with my friends. I do not post on Instagram or Facebook very often, i just use them to see what friends and family are up to and to keep in contact with them. I share a lot of things that i find funny with my followers on Twitter.

Looking at my online footprint I would say that is pretty large. This is because I use a bunch of different social media sites. Some of these sites include: Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Snapchat etc. I use most of these sites daily and like to get involve with discussions that take place. However, with that being said I do not post a lot on these sites other than comments.

I have accounts on many media platforms. I tend to keep accounts private so I can review who is trying to see my profile. I use apps like instagram, snapchat, twitter, and tumblr. Through instagram, snapchat, and twitter I interact with friends and read on topics and global events. I use tumblr and pinterest as inspiration for my life, style, and art. Social media is an excellent way to talk with my friends, and a way to make friends. These accounts and my habits lead me to believe I have a large online footprint.

My use of social media is extremely limited, primarily because of my desire to focus on my studies, because I have noticed just how much the use of the various platforms, like Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter have had an effect on my ability to focus in class, and at home. Since I've noticed how it's affected my learning, I've deleted a majority of my accounts, and keep my social circle limited to those who I see daily, or those who call me to meet. This decision has definitely helped me in my learning.
