His job was lookout, he didn’t take any cash or condiments from the store. He states that he knows he’s not a bad person. Implying that he knows he could never kill someone. He also says that he didn’t hurt mr Nesbit, he was never near when he was killed. That isn’t okay in any way shape or form. Although he was only a lookout, he still was an accessory to the crime. Which is something he most likely could’ve prevented.
