This picture represents Darwinism. Darwinism is the theory of evolution created by Charles Darwin in 1859. His book, On the Origin of Species, presented his view of the development of the human species on Earth. In short, Darwin's theory states that the stronger an organism is in its environment, it is more likely to reproduce and survive. In his theory, when they reproduce, they pass on the characteristics which innately improves the survivability of the species. One of the key points of his theory is that of natural selection. This is a process that favors species with traits that enhance their survivability. Charles Darwin's scientific theory that explains the evolution of life has had a major impact on science, society, and social issues.

Escherichia coli is a type of bacteria. Many people recognize this bacteria as E. coli. In healthy humans, you can find Escherichia coli in the intestines. The strain found in your intestines is perfectly normal and healthy, however, there are some strains that can cause serious health issues like urinary tract infections, food poisoning, and gastrointestinal infections. These harmful strains can cause upset stomach, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. This type of bacteria helps digest food in healthy humans. Some of the ways to contract this bacteria is by fecal-oral transmission, contaminated foods, or drinking contaminated water.

A monocot plant has seed that only has one cotyledon. A dicot has seeds that have two cotyledons. A cotyledon is a seed leaf inside the embryo of a seed. This diagram shows the other differences between monocot and dicot plants. On a daily basis we deal with both monocot and dicot plants. As far as monocot plants go, a few examples are corn, grass, wheat, and orchid plants. A few examples of dicot plats that we use every day are coffee, apples, roses, and pea plants.

Nematoda is a phylum of invertebrates. Nematodes are also known as roundworms. They are bilaterally symmetrical. Most of the time they are free living, however there are some nematodes that are parasitic. There are over 20,000 species of nematodes. Nematodes live in all types of environments from land to freshwater and even marine environments. There are some nematodes that even live inside the human body.

Rainforests are home to many different species of plants and animals. You typically find them around the equator with year-round warmer temperatures and higher rainfall levels. They are made up of thick forests with tall trees and big leaves. There are different types of insects, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles in the rainforest. Rainforests are made up of two different layers, the canopy and the understory.

The food chain is a vital key to sustainable life. You have primary consumers that eat producers, then the secondary consumers eat the primary consumers. Tertiary consumers eat on the secondary consumers while final consumers eat the tertiary consumers. Finally decomposers round out the food chain by decomposing all organic material. Biodiversity is the variety of all living things and their interactions. It provides you with nourishment, housing, fuel, clothes to wear, medicines, and several other resources.
