Both play inside the canon preforming great German Composers such as Brahms, Beethoven, Bach, Schiff, and Schumann. Staying with in the canon may be challenging for many and boring after awhile so sometimes they play outside the canon by playing music from movies which allows them to draw in bigger crowds. I would say the recent playing of La La Land by The Dallas Symphony Orchestra was a success because they got many positive responses.
