I think this picture represents the Great Depression very well as there is lots of empty space in the back and it’s almost like he’s the only one person in the frame, like the last standing in the greta depressions, just waiting for his time to come and I think it represents well the fact that so many people are going through a hard time. The Tractor at the back just makes it more real because there are no more plants to harvest the tractor has nothing more to do and it’s like it’s leaving home finding another place to go. The dead trees at the back really make it pop as the farmer is standing on a broken fence with a stick in his hands it’s just sad.

In this photo you can see the destruction all the floods and storms have caused to land and buildings. After a flood or storm had passed, the people would either leave their home or spend many difficult days rebuilding their house.

I choose this picture because it shows how high water levels can destroy the land. So because it got destroyed and there is mud everywhere cars or people can’t go there anymore. It ican cost a lot to just fix what high water levels can do to the land.

I chose this photo because it’s a photo of a family that has been struck by tuberculosis the child and the mum look very weak and thin the father looks as if he is working in a mine to make some money for his family but as they are all very weak it is very hard.

A lot of people became sick because of tuberculosis, and in this photo you can see a pregnant mother ridden with tuberculosis and her daughter. The room they are in looks dirty, and the bed looks rickety and broken. The floor is littered with pots and toys. The mother looks extremely ill.

In this photo you can see an old tobacco farm that has been flooded by à river or some type of natural disaster. I think that this was abandoned something before the flood because it was very hard to farm in these times because it was hard to make money.

I chose this picture because it shows that this mum and her child had a house that wasn't in a great state. It might be because they couldn't find a job or maybe it payed very very low but also that maybe their house got destroyed. But it also shows that people would keep things that are extremely old or in a bad condition, to use it until it really can't be used anymore.

In this photo you can see an abandoned house, and it looks like it had been kind of destroyed by a storm or flood. I think the owner of this house left because their situation became unliveable. The floor is littered with debris, some walls are broken most of the furniture is broken or on its side, and it looks like in the other room the ceiling has fallen through.

I chose this picture because we can see a big family where there is one or two parents and six or seven kids. They all look miserable and not smiling or forced to smile. They also have a baby and it must’ve been hard because babies need specific food.

I choose this picture because it shows that the land has been destroyed. Why ? Because there was a disease which infected the lake next to this little house. Which made it impossible to stay there because of how dangerous it could be so the owners had to leave .

In this photo we can see some sort of abandoned farm house . It looks very run down. If you notice the floor it looks as if it is wet maybe a flood has passed around and has gotten the house or something. Even though the house looks like it is in bad snap you can still see bottles and jars as if someone is still living in this house even though it is in bad shape. You can also see some suitcases maybe someone is leaving or coming to the house.

On this picture it seems like there are a things from a farm and crops that were destroyed by a flood and that the owner didn't have money to pay for it to get fixed because the owners job was a farmer and that all his crops were gone so he wasn't going to earn anymore money.

I think that this picture captures how average people who did nothing wrong got hit badly by the mistakes of the ultra rich banks and they suffered. Mrs Howard is standing behind what looks like a destroyed home looking desperate and she is holding a baby while standing informs of a gate with wire.

There were so many dust storms and sand storms that sometimes whole houses would get buried in sand. In this photo you can see a cabin that has almost been totally covered by sand and only the roof and a window is peeking out from under the masses of sand. It would probably take ages to dig out, and maybe sometimes people would get buried along with their house.

I chose this photo because we can see a mother or an older sister with a little girl in her hands (I’m guessing it’s her daughter or her sister). They’re sitting in a bed that looks like it’s about to break into a million pieces. It’s quite big so multiple people must sleep in it. On the floor, they’re is a toy for the little girl and a pot under the bed.

In this picture you can see some sort of bed frame with barrels of potatoes. In the description of the photo is talked about how that bed was where the farmer of these potatoes laid weak. I think that he was weak of doing all the farm work in these conditions he makes not money to pay for his things or even if he is very weak his medicine. It was very hard to farm in these times as not many people could afford to buy food.

And the food could have taken a lot of time to grow because they also have to water it each day, and since they’re on a big farm with a small water can probably took a while.

I chose this picture because it shows us how films were made in those times. And as we can see on the picture it very different to how films get made today. The camera is way less advanced than cameras we have today. The technology is way different. Even the set and the backgrounds they didn’t have green screens and all these props they had to film it in the exact location where the background they wanted was. And we can also see that before there were only 3 people behind the camera nowadays we have way more
