My family and lifestyle were not gravely impacted, my routine mostly stayed the same except for the new online classes. I was not as active in the outside environment and enjoyed staying at home, doing inside activities with my family. However, nowadays I have grown to relish the outdoors and not take it for granted. In sixth grade, I had just moved from Brazil to the USA, so I was getting adapted to my environment and felt as if it was customary to do the activities COVID-19 enforced. My family didn’t overreact or show extreme worry towards our situation, they were mostly concerned about the elderly family members living in Brazil, as most of them previously had health issues. The pandemic has made me realize that things such as: Going outside, visiting your family members, and friends are especially important and they should be valued. My family didn’t have grand plans during COVID-19, except the vacations which were customary or tradition were canceled. My family used to watch the news together every morning, until it became increasingly saddening to observe the horrific incidents in our surroundings. We agreed to no longer watch the news, this led to us not being informed on the condition of the world. Therefore, we had no in-depth knowledge of the government's COVID-19 safety enforcements. In sixth grade, I would’ve told my younger self to depend on my friends and family, and to be exceedingly grateful for having them throughout the experience that was to come. I would also fabricate hope, so my younger self would be aware that our loved ones would endure this journey, and so would we. My personal life was not impacted, but my mindset was drastically changed. Currently, I am more eager and enthusiastic to accomplish my goals and to increase my knowledge. I was encouraged to generate newer and improved goals that could lead me to a healthier mentality. My wisdom has flourished from this experience.
