Ebony and Ivory was written by Paul McCartney. He performed the song in a duo with Stevie Wonder in 1982. On the simplest level the song is about the ebony (black) and ivory (white) keys on the piano that live together in harmony and play beautiful masterpieces together. On a deeper level the song compares the keys to people and talks about racial harmony and tolerance. I believe in the message of the song.

Ebony and ivory
Live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard
Oh Lord, why don't we?

We all know
That people are the same wherever you go
There's good and bad in everyone

We learn to live when we learn to give each other
What we need to survive
Together alive

Ebony and ivory
Live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard
Oh Lord, why don't we?

We all know
That people are the same wherever you go
There is good and bad, mmm, in everyone

We learn to live when we learn to give each other
What we need to survive
Together alive

Ebony and ivory
Live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard
Oh Lord, why don't we?
Side by side on my piano keyboard
Oh Lord, why don't we?

Ivory
(Ebony, ivory) Ebony
(Living in perfect harmony) Ivory

Ebony
(Living in perfect harmony) Ivory
(Ebony, ivory) Ebony
(Living in perfect harmony)

https://youtu.be/TZtiJN6yiik

Freedom was written by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. The song came out in the year 2016. The song talks about racism and the struggles African American's have in life. Kendrick Lamar has a verse that he wraps talking about challenges with black men and the prospect of being murdered at any moment. Later in the song he gives a shoutout to his Mama saying that he doesn't know what could happen to him because racism can become very violent and he tells his Mama that no matter what happens she should stay strong. Another verse of Lamar's talks about the interactions black men have with the police. One takeaway from the song is that black people can't really rely on other people and you have to be self reliant
"I break chains all by myself/won't let myself rot in hell". We think it's a bad situation and that it's sad that they can't go to other people for help because they never know who is going to turn their back on them.

Freedom
Tryna rain, tryna rain on the thunder
Tell the storm I'm new
I'm a wall, come and march on the regular
Painting white flags blue

Lord forgive me, I've been running
Running blind in truth
I'ma rain, I'ma rain on this bitter love
Tell the sweet I'm new

I'm telling these tears, go and fall away, fall away
May the last one burn into flames

Freedom
Freedom
I can't move
Freedom, cut me loose
Singin', freedom
Freedom
Where are you?
'Cause I need freedom, too
I break chains all by myself
Won't let my freedom rot in hell
Hey! The song was written about acceptance of all of the people NO MATTER their skin color. Jackson expresses his feelings in the song about how he's tired of people who behave racist and don't accept people that are different from them. We like the song very much and we think that the message that we get from the song is very powerful and we agree with it.

Black Or White Michael Jackson

I took my baby on a Saturday bang
Boy is that girl with you?
Yes we're one and the same

Now I believe in miracles
And a miracle has happened tonight

But, if you're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're black or white

They print my message in the Saturday Sun
I had to tell them I ain't second to none

And I told about equality and it's true
Either you're wrong or you're right

But, if you're thinkin' about my baby
It don't matter if you're black or white

I am tired of this devil
I am tired of this stuff
I am tired of this business
Sew when the going gets rough
I ain't scared of your brother
I ain't scared of no sheets
I ain't scared of nobody
Girl, when the going gets mean

Protection
For gangs, clubs, and nations
Causing grief in human relations
It's a…
