They went because they wanted to be able to do tests while they were there and little did they know they were going to be discovering a lot more then they had expected. I think that was a good/positive idea because they did not decide to go just to find money they wanted to go so they would be able to do tests. It even interested all of the voyagers who went. They ended doing so much more. They did not only discover regions in antarctica but they also discovered an island. GLORY-It was a voyage that they had gone on. Discovering new places in antarctica allowed voyagers to travel there more and do new types of tests that they have not done in the past. Several explorers are traveling to antarctica since no one really knows what happens their due to the lack of people living there. Without James Clark Ross we would have never known about two regions in antarctica. The tests he had done allow us to know more about antarctica. Although we still do not know a lot about antarctica James Clark Ross helped the world know what we know today.  
How did It affect the natives?
This voyage did not affect any natives because people do not live there. If people were to live in antarctica I think they would be happy with him being there because he found two new different places that they can move to in the same continent. Today we now know more about Antarctica like what is there such as temperature and animals that live there.-Magnetic survey This helped the world today because with the survey he was able to find artifacts that we would not know about or know of without him doing the tests. Antarctica would not really be able to have cultural blending so it would not have an impact. If there was cultural blending I feel like it would happen with Greenland because both are really snowy and cold. They would be able to take each others advice on how to deal with the cold. Why do some colonize? Why do they not? Some stay where they explored because they wanted people to know that they discovered it. Another motive is they would want to keep doing what they were doing before but gain or spread even more such as gold or religion. Some colonize because they want to become the leader of a country.They might not want to colonize because people could rebel against them. It increased the gases that are in the atmosphere. There were also changes in the weather at sea due to the expansion of water from rain and ice melting. 
The Natives- The main thing for the natives that caused human expansion was the natives would move to other places and the population in that place would grow  another cause is natives would have children and that would also effect human expansion. 
The colonists- When countries colonize it brings more people to the new area.
