People definitely should have the right to protest, but they should not protest the National Anthem because of all the people who fought for the country they live in. The pledge I believe can be protested because it has the word "God" in it. Religion is supposed to be separate from the state, therefore keeping the right to protest the pledge is a wonderful idea.

Furthermore, the fact that the method of protest has been so inflammatory has drawn even more attention to the cause they are supporting, which is positive for their cause. 
In my opinion, the context of their actions means it is not disrespectful. They are not protesting the troops or veterans or whomever; they are protesting actions with which they disagree and doing it peacefully.
In my opinion, everyone has the right to protest or counter-protest peacefully.
