Cruelty can destroy a person's self-worth; however, compassion can work to rekindle it.

Compassion can be a catalyst for cruelty, and cruelty can be a catalyst for compassion.

The effects of cruelty are just as potent and long-lasting as those of compassion.

Cruelty is very easy to inflict, but is very difficult to remedy.

Even if you are raised in a cruel environment, you can still be a compassionate person.

Being shown compassion is the only way that one can recognize and heal from past cruelty.

Cruelty has lasting and detrimental impacts, but compassion can help to heal those affected by it.

A person who has only ever known cruelty won't recognize the effects of that cruelty until they are shown compassion.

Trauma caused by cruelty can be healed with compassion, but healing takes time, effort, and patience.

Cruelty often breeds further cruelty.

Compassionate relationships are often one-sided: there is a giver and a taker.

Isolation can be far crueler than any words or violence.

Too much compassion for someone or something can create unnecessary cruelty.

Compassion can foster growth, while cruelty can keep people down.
