         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sparta was ruled by two kings who jointly led the army.Sparta government was setup to control the cities Helots or slaves. The slave economy in sparta helped the city-state become rich and powerful.Their lives also used as servants and could be forced to fight during the war.The government also handed dealings between sparta and other city states.The Helots also growed the cities crops and did other agriculture jobs.Their lives were miserable and they couldn't leave their own land.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

Most Spartan men were away at war therefore they had to be trained to defend themselves by learning to wrestle also by throwing javelins. While I was reading I read that these tutors taught their students about philosophy, geometry, astronomy, and other subjects.
