I can never sing enough praises for padlet.com. it is diverse in the ways you can use it. You can provide video posts, graphic posts, or written posts. Students can comment on each other's work you can organize your work in a variety of ways. You can organize it with ideas like Pinterest. You can collect data from students whether it's images or words and then students can organize those into categories. It allows students to take raw data and organize it to how they see it which is really important for diverse learners. It allows them to use their own idea to interpret and then use that visual to help explain their own ideas to the class. Padlet can be used as a group or as individuals working within a group. It's a wonderful open platform made for collaboration.

Seesaw

I noted seesaw on this list because it was one of the main platforms I used last year. I wanted it to be a platform where parents could also collaborate with my students and with myself to view students' work to give encouragement and also as a way for the home and the classroom to integrate together and collaborate together for each individual student's needs. I never did allow students to collaborate together on seesaw but with more strategizing and structure I think it would be a great platform for that as well. I really enjoyed having the students do video blogs and it also allows for students to contribute to a classroom blog. And even from a teacher standpoint I can organize everything that's posted into different folders and categories to help me make sure I am collecting data in all the students' academic areas.

Google classroom: Docs and Slides

I have not used Google classroom to allow for students to collaborate together yet. But in all of my college courses I only collaborate with Google docs. Allows us all to see what we're all typing and it allows us to see documents and slides live and even with editing it allows commentary to happen and people can accept or reject that commentary. It is a great information flow organizer and allows all collaborators to have a voice.

Another one of the students in this class noted that Google classroom allows for students to comment on each other's works and presentations and give feedback to each other. I think that's important as much for the people providing the feedback to learn how to give constructive feedback as well as for the students giving feedback. It also allows for any diverse learners to ask questions of each other as well as to the teacher asking for clarification or more background knowledge. Google platforms like Google docs and Google slides also integrate easily with Google translate. Allowing for diverse learners to pull on Google translate when needed to help them with vocabulary words or phrases.

Flipgrid

I honestly haven't used flipgrid that much. But I've been encouraged to use it in other classes and I have tried it out once or twice. I noted this platform because of its flexibility around using multimedia ways of presentation and taking notes and then also collaboration between students. They can use video notes they can use written notes but there's just a wide variety of ways to collaborate and give feedback on flipgrid.

Popplet

Popplet is the one new app I tried out specifically for this class because I found it in the literacy world list of tech tools. I'm surprised I haven't heard about it before. But I really like it because it has a quick and easy setup and it has a wide variety of languages. I think it's really important to include apps that allow for collaboration as well as different languages. It could be a really fun platform to use between diverse learners to help each other see similarities between languages and words and find some of these words that are the same and both languages just pronounce differently. I also think that it is a really great way to visualize and organize words and where they come from or how people relate to them. I think it allows for contextualizing different vocabulary which is one of my favorite things to do with the students as we're learning new vocabulary.
