I used to go a summer camp there when I was younger, but now that I'm older I find myself going back on my own. There's something so breathtaking and reverent about the high Hemlock trees of the forest and the trails alongside the ravines. That is truly the place where I feel most connected to the Earth and a higher power. Everything about it feels like home to me, the sandstone rock formations, the webcap mushrooms, fog in the forest in the early morning. My friends and I often drive around and get lost in the middle of no where just listening to our favorite songs. This whole experience is even better when it is dark out or if it is raining. 
A spiritual thin place i enjoy is sitting in Watterson's chapel for adoration. They are places where I feel closest to my family, especially those that have passed. I am surrounded by family and I am able to take in the countryside of Jefferson County and appreciate the beautiful rural area, that I do not get to see as much of in Columbus. The calm aura and gentle lighting it has lets me be able to think in my thoughts without any distractions. This could be a stream, a lake, a creek, or the ocean. I also really like the Church as a thin space, especially before Mass when its quiet or there is soft music playing. This is especially true on the midnight or other late night Mass for Christmas.

I see them smile and know that they're happy, weather by my doing or not, that means that for a moment my purpose is complete, the ones who mean the most to me are joyful, if just for a moment.  the line between this world and the next is blurred as I see that the people who are destined for greatness experience a exponentially minute amount of  the joy that awaits them.
