In this picture we can see The Holy Trinity Roman-Catholic Chruch, located in the center of Sibiu, in the Large Square. This impressive building was created in Viennese Baroque style. It is one of the most important churches in the city. The tower which is detached from the entire building has an arched passage which connects the Large Square to the Small Square. On the church, there is projected a stunning Christmas-themed image with plentiful pine-trees and snow every night for the Christmas Market. It gives tourists an unforgettable feeling about our city and makes them feel the spirit of Christmas even though it hasn't snowed yet. Next to the church, behind the bright light there is the wonderful Christmas tree who impresses every year the people because of its beauty and height.

Located in a small neighborhwood of Sibiu named Tiglari, Binder lake is a huge, good-looking lake. It has a gorgeous landscape and it gives a lot of peaceful feelings.
If you are lucky enough to get there when the sun goes down, the glttering sunlight on the waves makes you feel, for some seconds, that you are in paradise. There are willows as far as the eye can see and if you look carefuly, you can see the crumbling walls of an old building. There is also a barn on the left of the old building that gives the impresion that you are in the countrysid , and on the both sides of the lake there are houses. If you listen, you can hear the whispering wind, because this is such a quite place, away from the crowded city.
Even if this place is not well known, unless you witness it for yourself, you will never know what a pleasant atmosphere this place creates.

Like an extension of the "Dumbrava forest", the "Sub Arini" park is a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place. Whereas in the summer the park is lively and full of playful children and multicolored birds that sing their happy songs all day long, in the winter nature takes over, and has the starring role.
This picture only shows a small part of this magnificent location, but this is the place closest to my heart. The tall, now leafless trees which in the hot season protect the park from the burning sunrays, now let them pass through in order to give a dim light to the area. The pathway on which all kinds of bikes used to always be on, is now empty and covered by a quite thick layer of ice. Even the benches are now slippery and cold.
The cars shown are driving on the street that holds the name of the great writer Octavian Goga. This one way street is often crowded during rush hours. The houses in the background are examples of a luxurious and lavish lifestyle, and are true architectural wonders.
All in all, the park and it's surroundings are best to be visited in the summer, when they becomes joyful and cheerful again.

Citadel Park (Parcul Cetatii) is the first park in Sibiu. This park is a special one because the great fortress was built on ditches and lakes.
The Citadel Park is situated in the center of Sibiu and it gives a medieval atmosphere when you walk through the park because of the imposing walls of the fortress, the specific pavement and because of the remarkable architecture of the buildings that are beside the old stronghold. This impressive sight creates a real painting of those ancient days.
More and more people spend their free time here. For example, the teenagers meet in the park, usually in hot summer days, and sit together on benches under the towering trees, next to the fortress. The tourists can come to one of the cafes where they can enjoy the peace of the place, a good coffee or a hot tee, while they admiring the great view of the Citadel Park.
This park became part of me for the first moment when I discovered the peace and the mystery of this place which is full of exciting historical stories and that impressed me a lot.

"The Liars’ Bridge" is my favourite place in Sibiu which is the second cast-iron bridge built in Europe and the first and the oldest cast-iron bridge in service on the entire territory of Romania. Today it is a source of pride for Sibiu, being regarded as one of the most important symbols of the city.
The bridge is unique not only due to its age but also due to the legends that surround it. It was said that the bridge was the perfect place to make an honest vow because it would creak at the slightest lie and would crumble at more serious lies.
In this picture the bridge is presented during winter when he looks like a meeting place where people meet and talk about themselves with theirs friends or they are taking pictures with him. Because of the Christmas Market from the great square the smell of the surroundings is delightful.
The bridge is highlighted by the lights that surrounds him.Because of the winter the road beneath the bridge has a lair thick of snow that makes the crossing harder.
Being all said, "The Liar's Bridge" is one of the best sights that you can visit in Sibiu. When you're on the bridge try to avoid telling lies, however small and harmless they might be.

"The Liars’ Bridge"NR 2

In this picture we can see "The Liars’ Bridge" which is an cast-iron bridge. The bridge is presented during winter , you can see the snow flakes on the side walls as an aspect of winter. The lanterns are glowing because the night is falling earlier on winter. The bridge is highlighted by the lanterns, this thing makes him an even more marvelous place. In the background are the citizens houses which are covered in a lair of snow that gives the impression of sobriety.
The people met for an hang out even though the weather is a little bit Siberian. The access to the bridge becomes strenuous because of the lair of snow that spread out. The savour of cinnamon and the sweet course of the place comes from the Christmas Market which is in the Big Square even when you go up on the road that is covered with a muddy snow. The noise that comes from the people ecstasy of being with their beloved ones.

One of my favourite place in Sibiu is Huet Square. It is located in the center of the town.
Huet Square is home to a mix of ghotic buildings dominated by The Evangelical Cathedral. This impressive structure featuring 5 pointed towers was build in 1520. The simple, stark interior is in total contrast to that of the Catholic Church. A gigantic fresco, painted by Johannes of Rosenau in 1445, covers much of the chancel's north wall. The mural shows the Crucifixion and marks a transition in painting from late-gothic style to renaissance style. On the south side, the choir loft boasts a beautiful fan-vaulted ceiling, home to a baroque organ designed by a German master in 1671. Six thousand pipes were installed in 1914, making it the largest organ in Romania.
Between the Evangelic Church and the Brukenthal High School reigns the statue of Bishop Georg Daniel Teutsch. The 3.5 meters high statue made in bronze is placed on a pedestal of the same height made in granite.
I recomanded for relaxing activities and spending time with your family or frends.

The Astra park is a quiet and beautiful park in my city, in wich I would like to spend some time with my friends or my family. This park is a very special place for me because it is situated near the old center in the vicinity of my school, so I enjoy seeing this place very often.
This wonderful place is green the whole year because of the fir trees that are never fading, but the best time to visit this magnificent park is in the summer. In the summer the park is revived, the adorable laughter of small children running is like an well-known song, the beams of sunlight glowing on the skin is the best experience that a person will ever have, also the scraping sound of a jogger's sneakers on a gravel sidewalk is an usual thing in this park because of the people concern of their own health. Going through the park you can feel the lost water droplets that have jumped out from the fountain touching you. Even in the winter this place is magical, the trees located close to the alley are shaking and the leaves are leaving the treetop, building an carpet of leaves over the whole road.
In conclusion, this park is for me the most beautiful one in my city especially during the summer and I recommend visting this place because it will be the best experience that you will ever have.

ASTRA PARK-Alex Fortodi(Only description)

In this winter season you can see on the ground a thick layer of snow just above the leaves that no longer take part of the tree.
Touching the green leaves of the bush you can feel the coldness of the winter that is far away from ending. The brown spot below the tree crown is now the only place left that is not covered in white pain. The old-aged tree that have banished its green leaves now looks like it was devasted by an overwhelming hurricane. The lost snow flakes are now resting for the life they got left on the trees bark, knowing that when they'll melt, they are going to pay the price for housing in water droplets.
Going to the park you will feel a strange smell of soaked leaves in the places in wich the snow is begging to melt. Because of the location of the park it might be possible to feel the smell of wine and cinnamon from the Christmas Market. At this time of the year the birds can't really be heard singing, but the people talking and children being astonished by the fineness of the view it is even better in this winter season.

The park has an amazing view and I enjoy seeing it so often.

I have taken this photo on a winter day and the very slippery path can be noticed as a result of the melting of the heavy snow. Among the branches of the trees "Thalia" Hole can be perceived that adds a dash of colour to the frozen landscape. There can also be perceived the colourless frontage of the old "Potters' Tower".

The park is a perfect place to breathe the fresh air while walking on a cold day. I also recomand it as the ideal environment for relaxing while walking or stting on a bench with your friends on a summer day

The slow cars were slipping on the fairy dusty road. The quiet and cold people were walking slowly heading towards their warm, welcoming homes. A lonely lantern, long forgotten on the side of the road was struggling to turn on the flickering light inside itself. The grey sky seemed to be really angry and it looked like it could fall over the town. Only one thing was alive-looking in this picture. A small pine tree with its leaves still green. But everything else looks dead and freezing and, to me, it captures the best a perfect, wintry day.

Sibiu Christmas Market (aka Targul de Craciun) is the liveliest and most colorful Christmas Market in Romania. As always this C.Market takes place in the heart of the city, probably the most beautiful part from the Old Center. Cheerful and full of color, the little wooden boxes present a huge variety of merchandise, from Christmas decorations, roasted almonds to handmade products. Why I love this place? Probably for his atmosphere, particularly special at night, when the stalls and the beautiful Christmas lights are sparkling all around Sibiu Old Town.
In addition to its gorgeous setting and sparkling stalls, Sibiu CM is covered by various forms of family entertainment: a small amusement park for kids and a couple nativity scenes, adding a little charm to this fairytale. Another novelty is the spectacular Christmas projection show, which brings the Grand Square’s elegant buildings to life with bright, colorful animations, every evening for 46 days.

Description 2

Located in one of the most beautiful cities in our country, Piata Mare is the most visited sight in Sibiu. This place is fascinating and full of life. Touching the grey and monotonous pavement, people give it color by their hearts full of happiness and joy. The pigeons which live there are waiting for adorable kids to come and feed the them by throwing pieces of bread . In this tranquil place, warm and quiet people were walking and admiring their favorite place in the city during a sunny summer day. The blue sky seemed to be very joyful and peaceful that day. In that time of year you could be fascinated by how simple, but also high spirited Piata Mare could be. Buildings around complete the scenery by their commanding figure. For me this is the best scenery that someone could see in Piata Mare.

One of the most beautiful places in Sibiu is "Piata Mare". It is my favorite place, here, in my hometown because I walk through it every day. It is situated in the heart of the city and together with The Astra Museum it is was one of most visited sights in Sibiu. "Piata Mare is surrounded by very important buildings for the town's history like The Brukenthal Museum, The Catholic Church or the Council Tower. It has a lot of colors and a huge variety of goods that people can buy.

Despite being so underrated, Selimbar never fails to offer an outstanding view, although it is of a common plainness.

As the Christmas is fast approaching, this wonderful place has already started to spread its magic. Now that the delightful fragrance of the fir trees is very deep, you cannot avoid thinking about Christmas time. The bright and irradiant sun refused to show up on the sky, so the light shade of grey could extend over the infinite and pale sky. The modern houses are covered with a soft, pure and delicate layer of snow. Benumbed by the cold fresh air, they progressively disappear into distance.

In the meantime, the shrill sounds made by the cars, which are swiftly passing through the busy and clean street, disturb the tranquil silence. The frozen landscape is now brought to life, as the visitors' footsteps on the solid ground makes snow crunch. The atmosphere itself succeeds in preserving the absolute and mysterious calm in this cold winter day.

I really enjoy walking in this area on my way back home because it is a peaceful and magnificent place. Therefore I am truly fascinated by everything nature involves.

DESCRIPTION 2
The Astra Traditional Folk Civilisation Museum is a place where the magic of nature is the thing that makes the difference between a good day and a bad one. A whole lot of imposing trees, in which some reckling birds give voice to their same old stories, enlace a lake. When the dazzling sun is on the cloudless sky you can see your reflexion in the greenish black water. From place to place there are decrepit houses made of wood or adobe. The redolence of fresh grass and the chitty butterflies are absolutely delightful. The wind seems to disclose the secrets of the people that burned the planks on a weather-bitten bench and just admired the silvan scene and the boats that were floating on the water. This subaerial museum is unique and restfulness.
There will always be a mystery, even if you have the chance to discover everything…

DESCRIPTION 1
One of the places that I really love in Sibiu is The Astra Traditional Folk Civilisation Museum. It is located within a stone’s throw from Valea Aurie neighborhood. I chose this place because everytime I go there it feels like finding the Paradise. I think that in this place the nature is all that matters.
This museum it’s actually a large area where are many old buildings. It’s something different and I, like many others, find a peerless beauty in the incense of fresh grass and the blare of flowers. The whispering wind and the glare of the sun makes me feel perfect.Over 300 houses and other buildings are situated in the restfulness forest around two artificial lakes
In this museum are also some activities in every year. It is that so called “Museums Night” and then there are loud folk concerts, movies under the starlight sky and delicious traditional food everywhere. In the rest of the year you can go there and just buy a sweet ice cream and go for a sail.
It’s a unique place and it makes me understand how tiny me and my problems are. I think that Astra Museum is the place that everybody should visit more than once in life.

It is next to center of the city and the “Octavian Goga” high school.

It is the most beautiful during the summer. The tall trees form a rooftop over the main alley. The sun light gets between the leaves and forms an awesome view. On the left side, there is the water few blasting all day giving the park an incredible look, alongside the sound of the splashing.

You can take a seat on the side benches and enjoy the silence, or read a book you can borrow from the library next to the park. One particular place that reminds me of my childhood is the Christmas Market which is located in the Center of Sibiu.

Annually, the Grand Square is catchily decorated for this moment of the year. Being surrounded by such magnificent little houses, makes me feel like I stepped back in time. The fair offers some of the most delicious Christmas gifts for their loved ones. The fresh aroma of ginger bread it feels everywhere. When night falls, people gather here to taste culinary specialties, whose flavors shroud the Square and the narrow streets. Moreover the delicious aroma of cotton candy that I used to eat every year remaind me even more of childhood. At once, loud laugh of children replenish the Christmas atmosphere because the fair has prepared a great number of surprises for them.

For me, every time I go there again and again I remember all gorgeous moments that I spend on Christmas with friends who have moved from town.

The Small Square is actually one of my favorite places in Sibiu. Most of the time I go out, I chose to go there.
It lies on the surface of the fortified walls of the town, that started in a semicircle from the Priests Tower to the Liar’s Bridge. The buildings divide the Small Square and the Huet Square. They used to be handcraft workshops and places for merchandise display. I think it's amazing how these houses that now seem so ordinary, back in the days were used as "homes" for little artists. The square is preserved with very few changes, all the buildings are historic monuments, distinguished by the fortification elements. Even to this day they kept their beauty.
The buildings are high and have those dormer windows known as the “ eyes of Sibiu", which seems quite mysterious to me. One of my favorite attraction is "The Liars' bridge" that actually splits the Small Square in two. The bridge was built in 1859 and it used to connect the upper and the lower part of the town. The name sounds very appealing, but actually it was a misspelling of the German word Liegenbrücke (which means lying bridge). Liegenbrücke is very similar to the word Lügenbrücke (which actually means Liars’ Bridge) and this is how it was translated into Romanian and used forever as the official name.
In my opinion, The Small Square is a great place for tourists that want to enjoy the view, sitting at a nice terrace, or for anyone that just wants to relax. Also, it is full of history.

The background od the photo is simple, a blue sky covered with fluffy clouds almost entirely.
In the right corner of the photo there is standing a white medieval clock tower with an almost conical black roof. On the top of the tower is a rather small looking black iron flag. The tower has five floors which are slightly different. The fourth floor has the clock which has a pale greenish colour, and the fifth floor has a bigger, arch shaped, window. The tower seems to come out of a houses roof. Right at the base of the tower there is a smaller cylindrical tower that is only one floor high and is much smaller in diameter too. It’s roof, also conical shaped has coloured tiles.
Near the house from which rises the tower are several other houses that are occupying the left side of the photograph. The first house on the left of the house from which the tower seems to rise, has a reddish coloured tiled roof and it’s painted in two shades of orange, darker and the bottom and brighter on the other half. The next house has a dark brown tiled roof and it’s painted with only one shade of orange. The last two houses are smaller, they both have red tiled roofs. The first one is painted a bright shade of orange and the last one is pale grey.

In Cisnădie the Christmas Tree is the biggest Christmas Tree in Romania towering over the city with its 40 m. Another interesting sight is the ice-skating ring. Since the ice-skating ring in Cisnădie is larger than the one located in Sibiu a lot of people choose to come in Cisnădie. Next to the ice-skating ring is a park where children can recreate and teenagers can relax. The park consists of a lot of trees that give a powerful natural smell, a playground and far behind is a lake . This lake looks amazing in the moonlight, in the middle of the lake is a small island. The view is absolutely breathtaking. The bluish color of the age blends perfectly with the greenish colour of the island. Ichose it because i like the way it combines history with modernism.

Here, the builidings with tattred walls merge perfectly with the inviting smell of pastry, that can be found throughout the square, and with the sweet taste of the hot chocolate.

The Square dates back in 1366 and over the years it hasn’t changed too much this is why I prefer to take a walk though it sometimes. The roar of the winter wind and the savouros scence of the mulled wine make this place a special one, particuary during the winter holidays.

A lot of buidings that surrounde The Square beloged to the germans, but now they serve more to the tourist’s interest. Regarding the events, they are quite alot. From exquisite concerts to Chrismas(or easter) bargain. There is no man that could not appreciate the diversity of this place.

Everytime I take a walk through The Squre, I remember my childhood, and I love it. I recomand this place because I am sure that everyone would like it.

This picture of the Bridge of Lies makes me remember all the magical stories my grandmother used to tell me when I was a child. What makes it so special is the period before Christmas when the glittering lights make it a fairytale location.
Bridge of Lies is a metal bridge in Sibiu, built over Ocnei street and it connects The Small Square and The Huet Square.
The most popular legend because of which the bridge is called "Bridge of Lies" says that on this bridge used to walk couples in love. Young people there swore their everlasting love and the girls say they are virgins. But after the wedding night, they discovered that some girls were lying. They were dragged off the bridge, being thrown over the railing.
I consider the Bridge of Lies one of the reasons why turists keep visiting Sibiu because it is a place where history, legends and medieval beauty meet together.

One of my favourites places in Sibiu is "Sub Arini" Park, a lovely and charming place. "Sub Arini" Park is the biggest Park in Sibiu City. It is one of the oldest parks in Romania having been founded in 1856. At the present, the park stretches over 22 hectares on which 68 tree species, among which 30 exotic species and 38 local species.
When I had a hard time, I come here and all I do is walk around and think about the good things of my life. This is the perfect remedy for me. Or, I come here with my friends to take pictures or cycling. It's amazing to go by bike and if you are assisted, you can have a 2-3 hour trip by bike from that park to some very nice surroundings and fresh air.
"Sub Arini" Park is a special and wonderful place for me where I can go and resort it.

It has been taken in a winter day and there can be noticed a very slippery path covered by a thin layer of sparkling snow. All the cars that are side parked on this seemingly gilded paved street conflate perfectly with the ambience. I’m drowning in solitude while I am surrounded by the lifeless city life. There has always been fascination towards the divine glow of the sunset but for me it was the first time I felt it, and it was a stunningly beautiful feeling. The obscure shadows that seem to be forgotten by the evanescent dawn light are conceiving another world commonly called darkness or night. I am standing right in the middle of this street, selfishly, asking myself if this fortunate stroke of serendipity was meant for me.
This moment was immortalized before the first touch of winter and I am glad I was blessed to witness to such a breathtaking moment that stands out from our dull urban lives of which we are so proud of.

People don’t seem to notice me, I feel like I’m invisible, everybody minding their own business. Everything would seem like a humungous concrete box if it weren’t for the trees that give us a glimpse of what life used to be before we all became machines powered by oxygen.
Walking, calmly, at pace with humans, is a pigeon that seems to be humanized by the lively yet dull people that are rambling around him. The pigeon himself seem to not observe my existence as if I weren’t even there.
The street appears to be endless, like the perpetual sky that is preserving our existence. Couples are holding hands but not conversations, children seem to be little marionettes controlled by a need to grow up and adults seem to be joyless puppeteers that wish for one more glimpse at childhood innocence. And it all blends in perfectly.

The thin layer of snow, which has gracefully touched the sleepy solid ground, is now turning into an infinite pure blanket. The slippery lane is suggestively taking the viewer to this ephemeral white kingdom, as it appears to facilitate the access to this inert wintry landscape. The huge impressive buildings struggle to stand out, although they look as if they eclipsed the symbolical plainness of the imposing fir tree. That tree is the biggest Christmas tree in Romania looking over the city with his 40 m. The buildings that you can see are almost 100 years old and they tell a lot of stories. The lights like I said before are new and modern and they make the atmosphere be one of a fairytale. At the moment the picture was taken ,outside was warm and the first snow hadn't arrived. Almost all of the time the town square is full of noise. Cars and people giving a hectic imprison of this unusual city. Why unusual? Because the modern and the old combine and create a specutular phenomenon. In the right corner we can see a little restaurant and in the right corner we can see a bank, also we can see a couple taking picturestogether and enjoying the city.
Annually, the Grand Square from Sibiu is catchily decorated for a lovely moment, Christmas. The magnificent, impressive little houses colors manage to create an incredible pleasure for the uman eye. The cold, harsh, fresh air freezes the entire landscape who becomes inert. Crowds of rush people animate the quiet and calm landscape, gradually destroying the peaceful atmosphere. The Square became a phrensy of activity and is replenished by loud laugh of children. Walking through the hole Square, tourists are greeted by deafening noise and delightful smells. Visitors gather here to taste culinary specialties, whose tantalizing flavors shroud the Square. The overpowering smell of those specialties can be feel everywhere.
