The Major league soccer is a professional soccer league empowered by the U.S Soccer Federation, this federation represents the highest standard in the United States as also Canada. The league consist of 23 teams, 20 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada. The regular season is from March to October, where every team plays 34 matches. The team with the best overall score in points wins the Supporters Shield.

This league was founded in 1993 as part of the successful bid to become FIFA World Cup host in 1994. The first season took place, two years later in 1996 with 10 teams. The first few years, the MLS encountered a lot of financial and operational problems: The league lost millions of dollars, teams were playing in almost empty America football stadiums and eventually two teams folded in 2002. After that the MLS increased the number of teams to 23, new owners built specific soccer stadiums. This great development resulted in an exceed of attendance of the MLS pertaining to the national hockey league (NHL) and the national basketball association (NBA).

In 2007 the designated player rule was introduced, also named as the Beckham Rule, this rule allowed an MLS team to sign a player that would have a salary outside the team’s salary cap. Because of this, MLS could compete with European clubs for an international star player. The first world-famous star was David Beckham who signed at LA Galaxy. In December 2015, the number of designated players was 114, which indicates the growth of the competition.

American Prison

The United States is known for many positive things but also many other things no one should be proud of, and one of the things is the huge number of prisoners in the United States. The U.S crime justice holds almost more than 2.3 million people in 1.719 state prisons, 102 federal prisons, 901 juvenile correctional facilities, 3163 local jails and 76 Indian Country jails as also military prisons, immigration facilities and civil centres.
At the end of the article, a pie chart with all the prisons in the U.S is shown, however, the pie chart does not show the enormous number of people going in and out of the facilities. Every year, 641.000 people go out of prisons, but people going to jail is over 11 million times a year. This number of people going to jail is mostly because most people just have been arrested and pay their bail in the next hours or days.
The U.S population exists for 64% of white people, 16% Latino and 13% is black, the disparities in the U.S prisons is completely different, here is 40% white and 39% black and 19% Latino. This static show how the view is from American to criminality concerning race, an average American would rather suspect a black than a white person. The division between men and women is, 91% of men and a “small” percentage of woman.
When all data has been merged about how many people are locked up in the different type of facility, it is clear that something needs to change. Locking up 2.3 million people cannot be right, is every conviction justified?

Philadelphia poison ring

The Philadelphia poison ring was a murder for hire group headed by the Italian immigrant cousins. This gang has committed the most killings in the history of America. Herman and Paul Petrillo lived in 1930 in Philadelphia, at this city the Italian community had grown from almost 77.000 in 1910 to over 155.000 by 1930. Herman was an expert counterfeiter and arsonist with many connections in the dark criminal world. Paul, on the other hand, did his activities in the insurance scam business at the back of his shop. The murders started in 1931 by Herman hiring other thugs to kill two men he just had insured, their deaths resulted in double accident insurance. After a while and loads of criminal activities, the Petrillos started an informal group, several women joined the group. They offered a man their love and devotion to them, after that high insurance, often made in favour of the gang were closed. The men were eliminated in various ways following with a big insurance payout. The gang eventually came across the police officers because of the suspicious death of Ferdinando Alfonsi in hospital. The group of six caused a total of 114 murders. All members were arrested and sentenced to execution or lifetime imprisonment.

the demise of Charlie Sheen

Thinking about American culture, and especially the world of television is to my opinion one of the best actors: Carlos Irwin Estevez, also known as Charlie Sheen. This man was born in New York in 1965, his father Martin Sheen and brother Emilio Estevez are also famous actors, and his friends in high school are movie stars; Sean Penn and Rob Lowe. This article is devoted to the demise of Charlie Sheen, he went from the highest-paid actor on television to be the laughingstock of the media outlets.

On March 7, 2011, Charlie Sheen was fired as an actor of the role as Charlie Harper on the price winning (Emmy Award) sitcom Two and a Half Me. For this role, Charlie had been earning a record salary of 1.8 million dollars per episode, which he was the star of the eighth year during show. The show had been a success from the beginning. In December 2016, Charlie did rehab for his drugs and alcohol addiction, this rehab was the third that year.

His rare behaviour followed many interviews were he openly made derogatory statements about his former employers, bragged about his enormous cocaine habit and walked around in Los Angeles with pornographic actresses. When Charlie was asked about his behaviour and his five kids, he answered:

“I am on a drug – it’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it, you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body”.

But most people feel the true moment of his ruin was when he was interviewed by ABC news, his eccentric responses to questions were so strange that the interview became an internet sensation. It was also the perfect material for parody clips, viral videos which some were harsh but other quite hilarious. The video at the end of the article is almost streamed 70.000.000 times.
