The 14th Ammendment states that anybody who was born in the U.S is automactially a U.S citizen. This was critical in the case of Wong Kim Ark vs United States. His parents were born in China but he was born in the U.S so he was automatically a citizen. They treid to bar him from the country when he left to visit his family but he fought to protect his rights as citizens.
