Perception on the elderly

Growing up I was always taught the principle to respect the elderly and it has stuck with me since. I love hanging out with my grandparents, in fact them and their siblings are my favorite people to hangout with. Most Thursday evenings I play cards with them for a while. Most of my friends have joined in on the fun and come with me. They have showed up for all my important events for me. Yes, they are very opinionated but they are very wise. It does take patience because they can't hear as well and are louder from it, they walk slow or the out of pocket comments however I love and respect them very much.

My family always has a good laugh. In fact sarcasm is our second language in the house. There isn't one specific person who is constantly being the joke, we all are. I even make jokes about myself. All our jokes are done appropriately and we know the boundary line. Whether it be a funny experience, something hilarious we saw or the drama that happened we all take it lightly. We constantly are messaging in our family group chats and there are certain times and places I can't look at the messages because I won't be able to contain my laughter.

Decision Makers

All my family members are very opinionated but my parents ensure that everyone has a say and we work towards solutions together. My Dad and Mom are both the decision makers. There are areas where my dad takes the lead in areas where my mom isn't as educated on such topics such as bills but he will always ask for her opinion or double check that's what they want to move forward on and vice versa. They have always made their decisions together even if it took a few weeks to make the decision. My dad is more logical with finances but my mom is more logical when it comes to specific needs.

Competition or Cooperation

I have four siblings, i'm the middle child. We are all pretty close in age. I have two older sisters and two younger brothers. I say it's a good mix between us all. My two older sisters are very cooperative towards my younger brothers, parents and I. However when I'm with my brothers it's constant competition. Whether it be who catches the biggest wave surfing, who skiis faster down the slopes, who is better at random sports we pick up, it's constantly a game. I think it keeps life fun. My dad is our prime leader of our competition. He constantly challenged me to perform the best I can perform in sports and education. There was never comparison but there is a sense of pride when me and my brothers compete. My mom is cooperative and will always cheer us on no matter the case. It really is a good balance between my family.
