CAUSE: Childhood Hunger Relief

Stephen Curry is one of the brightest stars of the NBA. Just when you thought he couldn’t top himself after winning the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 2015, he won again in 2016 by an unprecedented unanimous vote.

But between practices, travel, games, and Nike commercials, Stephen and his wife, Ayesha, fight to end childhood hunger through the Stephen and Ayesha Curry Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation, which they founded in 2019 with a focus on improving the lives of kids and families in Oakland, the San Francisco Bay Area, and across the country.

The organization is committed to unlocking the unique potential of every child by ensuring students have access to quality education, food, and safe places to play and be active.

Anchored around the message that children are our future, the organization strives to develop partnerships and initiatives that make a positive impact for generations to come.

While the program started in the singer’s home state of Tennessee, it now serves millions of children in four countries around the world.

“I always like to say that 100 million books have led to 100 million stories,” Parton said in a statement.

James is now helping other kids stay in school after opening the “I Promise” school in July. The school, in Akron, Ohio, is designed to help at-risk kids and kids who are falling behind academically. 

James has gone above and beyond to make sure the students are provided with the proper resources to excel. The school provides free meals and an on-site food bank. It offers therapy, classes to deal with trauma, free Chromebook laptops for the kids to do their homework, and more. 

The I Promise school also helps the parents of these students as well by offering GED classes and job training programs. This way the kids can be further mentored at home and the community can be uplifted as a whole.

Pharrell’s spreading Happy vibes beyond just his music with Bionic Yarn, a company that creates high-performance yarn and fabric from recovered plastic.

So far, Bionic Yarn has teamed up with some of the biggest names in the fashion business, including Adidas, Timberland, Topshop and GAP, to create upcycled clothing collections. The company also recently collaborated with G-Star Raw and Parley for the Oceans to transform recovered plastic from shorelines into an entire denim collection.

The actor is a ferocious environmental activist. One example is the foundation he set up in 1998 that bears his name: The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. It runs more than 35 conservation projects and its mission is to protect Earth's last remaining wild places and apply sustainable solutions to encourage a healthier relationship between humankind and nature. What's more, he has also produced several documentaries on these concerns.
