The Plague spread heavily in Europe and caused roughly 25 million deaths. The plague was able to spread easily because of the interconnectedness of the villages in Europe and the trade routes.

The Silk Road allowed trade throughout Asia and Europe. European and Asian countries traded more and there was cultural diffusion. The church had indulgences and didn't use its money wisely. The conflict was a conflict of ideas between people like John Calvin and Martin Luther, who thought the church was being unjust. Because of this conflict, many branches of Catholicism were made.
