         <description><![CDATA[<div>Food<br>Peasants: Coarse black bread and ale were common in every meal. They would eat eggs, cheese and veggies.&nbsp;<br>Lords: The lords had a lot more options. Meats, poultry, salted meats and cider-cider was safer to drink than water.&nbsp;<br>Clothing<br>Peasants: Tunics and gown were the most common cloths. They didn't usually change clothes.&nbsp;<br>Lords:Fur clothes, silk and velvet were the best materials for lords. Females would wear expensive gowns and dresses with puffy sleeves and veils.          <description><![CDATA[<div>- Health is very important.<br>- There was a lot of diseases and poor health in the Medieval Times and the diseases spread a lot.<br>- No one understood what the diseases were caused by, no knowledge of germs.<br>- Peasants got told that if they got sick that was a punishment from god.<br>- The Black Death was a horrible disease that killed a lot of people it was caused by please that was carried by rats.&nbsp;<br>- Towns/cities were very filthy there was very little hygiene.<br>- cures for toothaches were to burn a candle close to the tooth.&nbsp;<br>- Medical treatment was mainly for the rich and if you lived in a village, you would fairly had help.<br><br><br>Helene<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Medieval times, medical knowledge was scarce and diseases were common (especially among the peasents). As the population grew, hygienic conditions worsened. It was believed that smells and odours were the cause of disease, the people of the time were also extremely superstitious. Another theory was that illness was a punishment from god. They thought that meditation, prayers and pilgrimages would defeat their illnesses. Treatment for diseases were mainly available to the wealthy. There were more invasive treatments, one of which was 'trepanning'. This was when a surgeon cut a hole into the skull to release evil spirits. Suprisingly, research has shown that there were people who survived this procedure.<br><br>Anushka</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Everything in the Middle Ages was dependant on how important you were, including Houses. Peasants would usually build their own houses. They would be small, with a small garden, and Peasants didn’t usually have many possessions, so the houses didn’t need to be big. They were called cruck houses. The Rich would live in huge houses, with tiled floors and occasionally rooms on a second floor.
