The only way he can seem to get rid of his insomnia is by visiting cancer support groups and other support groups for people dealing with severely devistating diseases. By sympathizing with these people and crying his heart out, is the only way he can sleep soundly at night (as a baby). Recently he keeps seeing the same woman going to these support groups, by her being there is uncomfortable to sympathize and cry with the other participants which brings back his insomnia.

Tyler “The next time we meet, I’ll say.

In this chapter we dive in to Tyler Durdens personality. He works two jobs, one at a high end restaurant as a waiter and the other at a historical theater as a projectionist. As i understand this symbolizes the rejection of materialistic values and his intentional detachment from the trappings of a conventional career in a sense that, he doesn't care about getting a high end job and making a lot of money. While working as a projectionist, Tyler starts causing trouble by inserting nude pictures into the reels of the film. This also symbolizes the wildness and care free lifestyle of this character. Also our protagonist has started waking up in diffirent locations after going to sleep, i wonder if this has something to do with his insomnia or its something else. At the end of the chapter is where our protagonist meets Tyler at a nude beach, Tyler was making a cast shadow hand from logs he had found on the beach, he asked the protagonist what time it was to align the shadows to make a hand.

Research question: Why is the Narrator waking up in random places after going to sleep?

Quote: It's easy to cry when you realize that everyone you love will reject you or die.

You can't predict how life will turn out.

The Narrator starts to remember some of the things he has done while Tyler was in control. The man that Tyler killed was putting together a list of all the places where Fight Club had been taking place, thats why he shot him. When he dropped, his wife thought it was a part of the murder mistery they were playing, untill she tasted the blood coming from her husband and realised it was real. One reason why Tyler might have come into existence was because without him he would not have gotten close with Marla. The Narrator later tries to die by going to Fight Club and fighting 50 men, one after another.

Research question: Even if the man had put together the list of Fight Clubs then what?

Because chapter 29 and 30 are too short to not be put together.

Chapter 29.

The Narrator wakes up at the house and Tyler is next to him. He says that the last things that needs to happen is his big sacrifice, the Narrator refuses to go, but Tyler threatens to go after Marla, so he complies and go with him. We are back to where the story began, on the top of a scycraper with Tyler holding a gun in the Narrators mouth. Its actually him holding the gun nin his own mouth, but he cant do anything about it. Sudently Marla appears with some members from the support group, so Tyler dissapears and they try to get him to put the gun down. They know the building is about to explode and Marla confeses she likes the Narrator too, she knows who is Tyler and who is the Narrator, they are not the same person in her eyes. The building does not explode because Tyler messed up the recipe. The narrator pulls the trigger....

Chapter 30.

The Narrator sees what heaven is like, there are angels and everything is white, he can sleep in heaven. He sits at a desk with god, he tells God that people are neither special, nor trash. They just are. God says this is not true, the Narrator calls him a liar. Now what actually happened. The bullet ripped a hole in his cheek and Tyler was gone. He ends up in a mental hospital, he want to call Marla but is scared, because it seems Fight Club is still active, with people still walking around beaten up, Calling him Tyler and saying "We look forward to getting you back.”

Research question: What now? how will the life of our Narrator turn out? Will he be able to reuinite with Marla?

Quote: "Why did i cause so much pain".

The fight is over.... Tyler is dead, but the damage has been already done, people have died and suffered. Its all the Narrators fault.

New words:

Martyrdom: the death or suffering of a martyr.

Bowel: intestine, gut.

Melanoma: a kind of skin cancer that starts in the melanocytes.

Tuberculosis: a serious illness that mainly affects the lungs.

Manifestations: an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something abstract or theoretical.
