Jack and Alex meet every morning in the sandbox. Every morning, Jack plays with his truck and Alex plays with his dolls. Jack always asks Alex if he wants to play with his truck instead of him playing with dolls. Instead of playing with one or the other Alex suggests that they combine their toys to allow each of them to do what they want but together. Jack tells Alex though that he can not do both, drive a tow truck and wear a tutu. They start to get into an argument because they do not agree on this topic. However, they realized that Jack wasn't being rude to his doll but he wanted to show him that he could not physically fit in the truck. In the end, they both come to an agreement that they love ice cream. Sweety wondered and dreamed of having friends that were like her. She made flyers to help reach 'her people'. Her Aunt told her she should keep being herself and not be anyone who she wasn't. By the end of the book, Sweety continues to e herself and when she was being herself, she finally met someone similar to her.
