A bird's beak is important for its survival because it allows it to grab its food and build its nest.

During the investigation you learned birds have beaks like the tools (clothespin, toothpick, straw, spoon, tweezers, etc.). You used these tools to grab different items (ex gummy worms, sprinkles) representing what real birds eat (ex. worms, insects). Think about which tool (based on its shape/function) might match your bird's beak.

Now see if your guess is correct? Think about/research to find:
* Foods your bird eats.
* Where your bird finds this food.
* How is your bird's beak is shaped to get and eat its food? * How does its beak help it build its nest?

Yesterday we predicted that a sparrows beak is mix between a cone and a sharp beak.
We think the scissors are most like a sparrows beak because, sparrows eat insects, seeds and nuts. In the experiment we learned that scissors can crack open sunflower seeds, and insects , crumbs.
On the website we found the birds beak is like a cone. The cone looks like a scissor. We looked at the Britannica database and sparrow books. Their sharp beak can stab insects strait out of the air. We also find the bird eats seeds and crumbs.
