This bill proposes increased funding for mental health services in schools, including access to counsellors, programs, and stress management workshops. The goal is to help students cope with academic pressure, social challenges, and mental health issues. Supporters believe this will improve students' overall well-being and academic performance. Critics argue that schools may not have the resources to handle complex mental health issues, and some suggest this funding could be elsewhere.

This bill proposes funding to provide every student in public schools with a personal laptop or tablet to use in class and at home. The goal is to ensure equal access to technology and support online learning. Critics argue that the cost of this program may take away funding from other essential areas like physical education and arts programs.

This bill proposes setting a national minimum wage for students and young workers at $19 per hour, regardless of the province or territory. Supporters argue that this will help students afford their education and reduce financial stress. However, opponents worry that it might lead to fewer job opportunities for teens, as some businesses may not be able to afford the higher wage.

This bill proposes strict regulations on social media companies to protect teens from cyberbullying and harmful content. It would require social media platforms to limit screen time for teens and ensure their privacy is protected. Critics say it might be difficult to enforce and could violate teens’ rights to make their own decisions about social media use.

Those who don't have a laptop at home should be able to sign up for a program or something that allows them to be provided a laptop from the school/government. Providing everyone with a laptop would be overly expensive and not worth it as a lot of people already own personal laptops/tablets at home.

This bill also allows children that might not be able to access or afford assistance to undergo professional help. We also agree this proposal should be amended to either ask for a guardians persmission or give them an insight that they're child needs extra guidance.

Our group believes the bill should be ammended because businesses that hire unexperienced youth - students - might not afford or be willing to pay a minimum hourly wage of $19. Our suggestion is to make it start at $17/hr and progress to $19/hr within two years. This is for students 16+ or in Highschool so that they're able to start saving up for college and pay for their own expenses while not having job opportunities taken away because the minimum wage is too high.

We believe this bill should be amended to include the factors of other major classes. It doesn't make sense for Physical education to be extended another hour, when other major classes are only 40 mins. The schedule would be unbalanced and unreasonable, and reinforcements will be made, prolonging the school day. Another factor to consider is other tasks from other subjects. Pressure would be put upon the peer, leading to unfinished and too much work. What if the student has after school activities? Their work would be piled up because of this initiative. This would also affect exam study periods. Students should focus more on academic time and subjects that actually matter. Though this initiative's main purpose is to help improve students' mental and physical health, peers should just follow the original time period and do extra physical activities on their own time.

This act needs to be finalized because teens deserve to be heard, supported, and comforted. About 1 in 5 children and youth in canada struggle with mental health issues. It is important that teachers acknowledge students well-being especially with school activities and out of school activities. Children deserve to not be stressed 24/7. Minors need to learn in a safe space since it could be a way to escape home life. There are no negative effects to students as it would decrease suicide attempts and any other mental issues .
