Since I've moved 2 years ago, I have noticed a ton of differences between people in Long Island and Los Angeles. The biggest one is definitley the way people dress. I always stand out in Long Island as I have a much more laid back style than most. Although a lot of times I see kids trying to mimick LA style through brands that we used and other stuff, nothing can change the fact that it could be 80 degrees in summer with 40 percent humidity, and I'll be wearing pajamas and a hoodie while everyone else is in shorts. It's because i'm used to heat, and like to be comfortable all year round. In LA, we would all where hoodies in upwards of 100 degree weather. I guess it has something to do with the culture of the place, very laid back and indifferent to what people think.

When I was a kid, I would always be easily angered. When someone would say something mean, I would always take it very seriously. Although this built up my resilience and ability to stand up for myself, I often got into fights at school and made a lot of people around me angry. My dad always told me that the one who is miserable is the one who starts the argument, and that if I didn't care what people thought, my life would be less problematic, less stressful, and more full of happiness than those who get angry at everything that comes toward them. Because of this I've kept my resilience that I developed, but I also became more laid back, and indifferent to the world around me. Sometimes I get angry, but I shrugg it off and go on about my day. I feel that because of this very important lesson, I'm a better person today.

My parents have always been extremely strict towards me and my siblings. Often times I would miss out on fun things my friends could do that I couldn't. An example of one of these times goes a long way into the past, when my friend had invited me to a birthday party to stay at Great Wolf Lodge for a few days. I was extremely excited, as I had seen commercials of the place. But my parents said no to me going. This devastated me, and I argued with them for a few days before finally letting it go. My friends still have stories about Great Wolf Lodge that I never was able to experience. I know that when I'm a parent, my kids especially at a young age will be able to go to these hangouts, as they create new memories that stick with them for a life-time.

My Mother has always been the most important figure in my life. My relationship with my Dad is strong too, but always had some bumbs in the road. I love them equally, but I have more to say about my Mother. She has always supported me in anything I do, sticking up for me in every way, and she has always shown her affection and care for me deeply. Any time I would get in trouble and my dad would y'all at me, I could go to her and she would help me through it through gentle parenting. I love my mother and wlays will. No questions asked.
