I am an aspiring software engineer so part of my media consumption habits is to watch others code (because I'm too lazy to do it myself 🫠🫠) anyhow here's a video explaining how dumb I am at coding 😅

What is my typical day you ask?

My day consist of going to school, studying flashcards while on the car, doing school stuff, studying, and consuming media as my down time. It is what I do, and sometimes I think that I should try and improve this routine of mine.

So why do I like these media?

Simple really, because they are fun, interesting, and they feed my head with ideas that I would never come up with by myself alone. Take my favorite book, for example, 1984 by George Orwell. It introduced me to the consequences of language and how it can be manipulated to propagate certain ideas. For instance, if you want a society with no democracy, just ensure that this society uses a language without words like 'Democracy,' 'liberty,' or the like. Boom, you have yourself a country with no concept of freedom, simple, right? That's the main point of this book; we must be careful with our language, or else people can use it to change our perception of what's true or right. Moments like these are why I read books, watch interesting YouTube videos, and explore anime that delves into the human psyche.

These are what makes me who I am, they are the reason for my flaws, my strengths, and the way I act, it might not be perfect, but I try my best to reflect and grow. I know the dangers of media, but I also know what it can do, the anime above, is called Evangelion, it has changed many peoples lives, it portrays suffering and depression to such a degree, even during the production of the show, the director himself was struggling with mental depression, because of this, a lot of people were able to relate, and grow with the characters portrayed in the show, it is what makes them who they are, and this also applies to me.

Books I believe are the authors life work, not just because they spent a large amount of time writing the thing, but because it reflects their own perspectives, prejudice, flaws, and life experiences, it is not only a good way to entertain and learn, but also as a way to to relive a small fragment of person's life, and I think that is something special that we should all appreciate.
