         <description><![CDATA[<p>I use a variety of strategies in the classrooms I service.  One strategy I always use is allowing students to come to the whiteboard or use Math Mats to share and to document their thinking.  This validates students strategies and ideas and allows myself to see where students are coming from and what skills they have.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In the last three years of teaching grade 5/6, I've been trying to implement the Thinking Classrooms approach by Peter. </p><p><br/></p><p>We use the vertical non-permanent surfaces to solve our problems of most lessons. Students are assigned random groupings and are asked to each contribute to writing their solutions on the whiteboards. </p><p><br/></p><p>Teaching a grade 5/6 split, I often consolidate from the bottom.</p>]]></description>
